  1. I have been following Hak.5 for years now. I enjoy your shows and have learned a lot. But your Hak Tips have really set a new, high standard. They are really first rate productions. Wow! In my work, I have made some training videos for programmers. My production standards are much lower than yours, contain only screen recordings and slides, and I don't have to make it entertaining (but I still try). Even without those requirements, I find it extremely challenging to teach even the simplest concept in a recorded video. So my hat is off to you. The Hak tips have first rate content, they are thorough, and they are entertaining. I know these are going to position you guys as *the* IT authorities of new media. I hope you get rich doing it. Along the way you are doing a great service for people like me.
  2. Memtest86 I could not find memtest.img anywhere. So I extracted the iso to a folder named Memtest86. Then I used this menu option (found elsewhere on this thread): title Memtest86 kernel /Memtest86/ISOLINUX/MEMTEST Note the absence of initrd or anything else but kernel. It works for me. DBAN dban.img was inside the iso from DBAN. freedos.img There is an older version in img format here: http://ftp.usf.edu/pub/freedos/files/distributions/1.0/ and other file info here: http://www.freedos.org/freedos/files/ Hope that helps.
  3. Hi. I checked your xpm file. The color table has 15 entries instead of 14.
  4. In your white box build and several places in the forums, people talk about the need for RAID cards instead of using the RAID that comes with the motherboard. I assume there are good reasons not to use on-board RAID — otherwise 3ware might not be in business. What are those reasons? Is expansion card RAID faster than on-board RAID? Is on-board RAID less reliable? Do you *ever* use the on-board RAID included with the mobo? BTW -- Hak5er's: Thanks for the great show. -- Dan
