  1. Place the windows xp disk in the drive and go to install it and when it comes up with what you want to do. Press R to repair the current install once the command prompt comes up type chkdsk -r or /r forgot which one exactly. It will take awhile usually to go through the process but it usually works when people come to me with boot issues.
  2. This is my desk at the mo. Its a right mess. No the dell is not my PC but a server that I'm setting up.
  3. lol. I believe its something to do with firmware on DVDs etc. Not too sure as Im not really interested in this project, just he a mate and asked if I knew anyone who could code and understand assembler. I thought if anyone could code assembler and understand it they could be a hak5 fan :P.
  4. The project I am told involves a xb360, you do not need to have one tho. if someone knows how to code and use it then contact me and I will put you in touch with him.
  5. Does anyone know assembler? One of my mates needs some help with a small project. Cheers for time
  6. I use my own proxy (http://joehill.co.uk/proxy). Soon will be using a nix box at home using SSL, having VNC and CGIProxy installed to access Messenger, Web sites and general stuff I would do at home. I cannot get much work done while at college. But I have to turn up for attendance thats why. The college Im at just diteched their ISA server and just brought a new firewall and blocked every port except 80 and 443.
  7. Bonjourno, I have a couple of boxes for exp's and only one 17" TFT, I use a belkin KVM switch where I just flick a switch and it changes sources. I don't know how hard it is to make one im guessin it could be easy. KVM switches can be really cheap and may be a better alternate to hacking some wires together and doing it that way. Just my opinion most likely get slated for it :P
  8. Ofcourse :D . I first thought it will be pointless eye candy, but it actually makes me work more organised and increased my productivity. Shit gfx card on laptop but it runs xgl perfectly
  9. Heres my laptop with my new install on SUSE 10.1. I haven't reallt had the chance to customise it or pick a decent wallpaper yet
  10. If you need access to CMD, at home goto C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32 and copy the CMD.exe file over to a USB drive or email it your self, when you get to school copy and paste that shit to the desktop and you should now be able to use CMD. It worked for me at college when they blocked the CMD. Not a very elegant way but meh it works for me
  11. Nice project you have going here, keep up the good work ;). Doe's that Start in the Start button now say Hak5? :P
  12. Heres two great pictures of me :S
  13. Good ol Robin Hood here. Nottingham, UK :P
  14. I do not believe that the way you want it to be done has ever been done or even if its possible. You would have to custom make an installer that would recon the memory card as a useable drive and then you would need to partition it so you can install the Sony Linux Boot Loader on it, There would also have to be loads of hardware tweaks in the OS to be made. If it hasen't been done now then it most likely will never be done.
  15. Haven't tried it myself but here are a few links you might find helpful: http://playstation2-linux.com/faq.php#70kseries http://playstation2-linux.com/projects/diskless https://playstation2-linux.com/forum/messag...hp?msg_id=45576 Hope they help

  17. This looks neat. I have never used Novell or SuSE since Novell took over so i have no idea what there os is like but some of the features what I have seen from this video would get people into Linux more. Im going back to Linux once I have finished Uni and this is one I will have to play with. The demo of the OS is not the full lenght of the video http://www.novell.com/img/flash/load_strea...ress_conference

  20. Well I had a little bit of spare time and I thought I would write up the thoughts I have had for over a year now about how I see the computer world in 20 - 30 years from now. It may even happen sooner but I just estimated logically that lenght of time. My Prediction: http://joehill.co.uk/index.php?option=com_...=view&id=25 What do you guys think?
  21. Me and a friend are working on forums to help people into computing learn more. It was aimed to help college students share information and knowledge but we decided it is aimed at alot more people. The site is young and we very busy people so we haven't had time to spread the word. Website: http://collegebanter.co.uk What do you guys think of the idea and the site?
  22. It would be nice to have it run Linux, but my main concern with this device is the cost. Id rather buy a laptop.
