  1. Ok, not sure why it started working before(but I was changing a lot of settings) because it's still not giving the SSID but I found that if I add the line iwconfig ath0 txpower auto to the jasager script it will start broadcasting the SSID on boot. To clarify, my original problem was caused by trying to start jasager when it was already running. However, I did not think it was running because it was not broadcasting an SSID. Still having other problems but that's a subject for another post.
  2. It's a first generation fon but I found the glitch. It broadcasts just fine until I load the jasager webif(192.168.1.1:1471) that's when the ssid stops broadcasting. hmm... more testing is in order. Thanks for your help
  3. Ok since I have modified this fon heavily over the years trying different this from the show, I decided it would be a good ideal to start fresh. So I re-flashed following the guide linked to in the previous posts and then followed the rick roll guide with the addon by HomoHabilis, but I am still having the same issue with it and that is the SSID of RickNet is not being broadcast. I could see it the first time I powered up and did connect to it(as confirmed with the jasager webif log) but it stops broadcasting shortly after this(while the connection is still underway) and I can't get it to come back. A check with wlanconfig ath0 shows that ath0 has the SSID of RickNet but it is not broadcasting it. Still says "Status: not implemented(yet)"
  4. Is this a hint that I should flash the newest firmware?
  5. I believe I have set up every thing correctly but this pineapple has been modified and the base flash was done some time ago(no more then a year after season 5) using Digi Ninja's Jasager firmware(not sure of the version). rick roll index seems to work fine when I'm wired to it but on the wireless side(after reboot/power on) the SSID shows up then promptly disappears. When I try to start jasager manually(/etc/inid.d/jasager start) I get the following error message: can't add ath0 to bridge br-lan: Invalid argument If I use # wlanconfig ath0 destroy then # /etc/init.d/jasger start I receive httpd: bind: Address already in use A check of wlanconfig shows ath0 is created but "not implemented(yet)" The SSID of RICKNET still does not show up. (I assume because ath0 has not been passed that info.) If any one could tell me where I made my mistake or offer any trouble-shooting tips I would be very grateful. Thanks Edit: Title: Autor-rickroll ^ =Doh! Always preview your post.
  6. While playing with my fon yesterday I received an error and a message that said to "report this to the author". The error was a "signal 14"/"signal alarm" and after this my fon started behaving unpredictably. The wired link kept dropping out and it seemed like to fon was rebooting on it's own but my mounted share for airodump-ng was still there so I'm pretty sure that it did not "actually" reboot. I have posted this here because I am unsure if this was a legend firmware error or a aircrack-ng error and how to contact the author. (plus hak5 just rocks anyway) Fon 2100 legend Alpha4 firmware Error received after running airodump-ng and finding no wireless signals and then stopping airodump-ng Problem behavior noticed shorty after and continued even after several power cycles. airodump-ng did work after the error and I did capture packets but the loss of the wired link kept reseting my ssh session. I have a screen shot of the message but I am unable to post it at the moment (it's on my flash drive which of course I don't have on me). If there is more info you need or info gathering steps you would like me to try I am willing, I have not re-flashed the fon yet as I wanted to receive the "ok" from the author in case there was more info needed and unlike most other windows users(yes I said it) I know if you don't report it, it won't be fixed.
  7. I just updated from J2.1 to the firmware and no trouble at all. The only thing you need to do after the flash is telnet in and set the password then enable the wireless. Thanks DigiNinja and everyone else who helped make this project a reality.
  8. Hello all, I am am a skiddie, yes I said it but I want to be more then that and I would like to contribute. So on that note I am looking for tasks that an aspiring skiddie could do. Thanks, Jackal7
  9. OK I have read 90% of the 29 pages of this thread and I still have to ask, so there is a way to encrypt/repack/recode the payloads but that only keeps it from being detected on the disk and when it is run the AV will see it in the in memory scan and kill it then. Correct? If that is the case then you would need to code a new "clone" so to speak for the payload that has a different signature to go undetected? If this is way off and sounds like total flub I'm sorry I'm a noobish skiddie but my tivo started downloading Hak5 a month or so ago and I love it. In fact I did something I never do and thats spend money( bought a fon should be here in about 2weeks and 4 days woot! can't wait to lose that skiddie cherry, you think the yes man can do it for me;) ) 30 buck in stickers will be the next big buy(I didn't even spend that much on my last pair of shoes) P.S. I hope this gets the thread back on topic--- no offense to any one and mad props to EVERY ONE that supports hak5 I hope to contribute in any way I can so if there are any skiddie compatible tasks please let me know.
