In case anyone else runs into the same problem, I later managed to solve my problem using the information here.

Hi everyone, I've been trying to set up my pentest environment and have so far put Backtrack3 and WindowsXP (sp2) on their own virtual machines using VirtualBox-2.1 (2 VMs running atop my default OS). To test and see if I can remotely access the XP box from the BT3 box, I want to upload the meterpreter payload onto the XP box using the ms08_067 metasploit module. My connection keeps getting refused and I'm not exactly sure why. Here is a pic of what I'm getting I think that the problem must be due to to the 0.0.0.0:445 on the XP machine (not sure why its doing that other than it must be VirtualBox related?). I was able to ping the XP ip (10.0.2.15) in BT3 so I'm assuming the target IP is correct.
