We use FreePBX and Elastix. Hell we could sell you a Virtual PBX so you don't even have to mess with it!
But PBXinaFlash is nice too =D. Just stay away from Trixbox..it's outdated and sh!tty.

Kayako. Not a big fan of it too much configuring and it takes time setting stuff up.

ITT and other schools like that are for people that think "oh well i'm tired of flipping burgers at McDonalds and I wanna work on computers now cause I own a Dell"
Like rehook stated..get an AA/AS at a community college and call it good. Most community colleges also have Certification classes. Well a couple here in Kansas do.
-
I would check out SpinRite..it's saved my ass a couple times.

I'd be careful and make sure you disable p2p, so if somone is torrenting that they don't get your account shut off.
A "friend" has a router Mikrotik router setup as a hotspot and shares the internet with his "family" that pay a minimal fee "for equipment expenses only". He is running 2 Engenious EOC-2611 on the outside of his house to the router mentioned above. Each computer is setup with a static address via MAC (that way people can't add 3-4 computers)
If you need any help let me know.

my computer is for sale for $1400 :-D
6-core 1100T with 16gb ram

Is it an Athlon Dual-Core? Should run just fine. If you want to run Windows VMs you have to have a cpu that supports Virtualization (AMD-V) If not, if you run linux guests you should be fine.
-
This is what I did.

I don't know why you'd go with a Xeon for something like that. I bought my AMD 1100T 6core for $240 and 16GB of regular DDR3-1333 for $160.
I would use that Lian-Li case for sure. The only cases i've seen with 8 bays are 3Us. I have an Icy Dock in my file server and it only holds 5 hard drives (which 10TB is enough for now) so I don't know why you would need anything more than that unless you have a ton of Blu-Ray movies. But you could totally build something like,
Lian Li Case
Zotac Mini-Itx Socket 775 ($50)
Intel Pentium E5800 Wolfdale 3.2GHz
Then if you want another NIC just throw in
SYBA 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps PCI-Express Network Card 1 x RJ45
Then add your drives and your set.

You can set queues for each device connected that way they can't rape the internet. Pretty easy to use (software GUI). I use the Gigabit (750G) model of that one. Never had a problem with it.

weak.
covering their asses I guess.
you could always say you own your own firm and put a PO Box :-D
-
I love them. We run them for everything. They are finally coming out with that 750 w/ wireless N built in (2 months after i buy a new router)
I'd also recommend the 493AH or 493G they have 8 ports and have a rackmount kit. Baltic Networks has some cool Mikrotik stuff too.
-
I run about 75 hotels WiFi networks. I have to manually put in the MAC address to bypass the hotspot page. Might talk to the network admin or just hack the router :-D
-
Just get a mikrotik or build a box with RouterOS. It supports IPv6, and it's ready to go.
This is the one i'm running (ipv4 only)
-
I was wondering the same thing. I saw i'm -1

We run Proxmox 1.9 for our virtual pbx systems. I love it. Beats the hell out of Esxi and it A LOT faster =D
Haven't messed around with 2.0 that much. Looks pretty cool though.
