  1. Just FYI, there seems to be an incompatibility between FlashBlock for Firefox and Pandora's Jar. The Jar will load, and you can add "localhost" to allowed sites, but you won't be able to grab any MP3s. I can give more info if you want, but just download FlashBlock and check it out for yourself.
  2. AAAAAUGH Okay, something is up. It must be specific to my setup. This PC is a BRAND NEW build of XP now. It works on my crusty laptop, but not on a brand new install of XP on my desktop? Okay, I have followed the setup instructions on this webpage to a T...even though I really want pandorasjar to download into d: instead. (http://www.hak5.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=983) *I have extracted it into c:pandorasjar *I have edited c:pandorasjardefault.properties to: mp3.archive.path=c:/downloads/ *I then created c:downloads manually. *I then installed Firefox 1.5.0.4 *I then installed JRE 1.5 update 7. *I then went into a command prompt: cd c:pandorasjar | java -jar pandora.jar 8085 --It started up fine. *I then went into Firefox and created a new profile "Pandora." I then pointed my browser to http://localhost:8085. *The page loaded, I was prompted to install Flash. Did so. Pandora loaded, I entered in my account, everything started up... * There is still no plugtmp being created in c:documents and settingsjakelocal settingstemp Ugh. I'm running Windows XP SP2, fully patched. I have two hard drivers, c: and d:, which are serparate physical drives. The PC itself is an AMD64. Any help would really be appreciated, I'm not sure where to go from here. Did I miss an important setup step? 3. Mostly, I don't want to start questioning this PC at every step. I'd rather just create a new nLite CD with all the most recent drivers, get my disaster recovery back up to snuff, and go from there. :)
  4. I've been searching for an excuse to reload this machine - ever since Comcast "Had to" install their software, it screwed up the shutdown and a few other things. ...I should have fired up a Virtual Machine in fullscreen mode. :(
  5. Okay, so I downloaded filemon from sysinternals.com - the firefox.exe process isn't storing a file that would be a cached MP3 anywhere. It's updating the history files, and some cache files, but there just isn't anything. And this is from just running it in Firefox (1.5.0.4) without the jar. I've gone back over the n00b guide to make sure I didn't screw up. I've edited the properties file, copied over the jacob.dll file... I'm at a loss as to what I've got wrong now. Going to try it on my laptop PC and see if tha tmakes a diff. :P EDIT: Well, damned if it doesn't work like a champ on my laptop (Same OS, version of Firefox, etc...) I'm at a loss.
  6. Hmm, okay, deleted that entire directory structure, removed my manually created plugtmp folder, and restarted pandora's jar. Yes, both %TMP% and %TEMP% are pointing towards my profile. And Windows XP. Firefox's cache is pointing towards antoher dir under my profile (Local Settings/Mozilla) and there are no files in there that would be pandora-like. Still getting no plugtmp folder created. Did a full filesystem scan for plugtmp - nada. Now, interestingly....if I open up Pandora in IE, there are files created that have the MP3 in them under the "Temporary Internet Files" directory. But not under any plugtmp folder. So I can just rename that file, and get what I'm listening to. Hmmm. But firefox does no such thing? O_o Worth mentioning that I created a completely separate profile for Pandora's jar, since I have my other profiles stored on a network drive. EDIT: I just completely uninstalled Firefox and Flash, removed all settings files from within my profile, did a search and removed as much as I could, then re-installed Firefox, which then had me re-install Flash when I fired up Pandora's Jar. Still no love. :( :( :(
  7. AHa, fixed the issue by creating the plugtmp folder within my %TEMP% directory manually. Correction: Didn't fix it, it's just pulling the same file from somewhere else now. And always the same file. (Names it differently, but the content doesn't match what was played.) INFO Thread-2 util.Mp3Processor - copying file[C:DOCUME~1jakeLOCALS~1TempTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5ETONSL4Xaccess[1]] to temp[C:DOCUME~1jakeLOCALS~1TempTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5ETONSL4XpandorasJarTmpFile.mp3] I would like to note I'm using firefox to do this, not IE. (Why is pandora sotring items in the IE cache, or is it flash doing that?) I then cleared the IE Cache, Firefox Cache, and Java cache. Now back to the same behavior. Dang.
  8. Tried that, same reults. I've cleaned out the windows/IE/Firefox caches, and am still getting the same reults. There is simply nothing new being created under the %TEMP% directory, and that is where the jar is looking for MP3s. 9. I'm having the exact same problem, running 7.2, firefox 1.5.0.4, and Flash 9. It is going to my c:documents and settingsUSERLocal SettingsTemp and looking for MP3s there, but it is not finding anything after a few loops. Not sure where it should be looking, if this is even the right place, but you're not alone, heh.
