I would say call them. If you get a reponce to the effect of "Well we just tested your connection and it seems fine" then they have temporeraly tuned off the throteling on your connection. ....and I call myself a geek... *tear*

....wow and y'all call your self geeks? comcast right? the highest comcast offers(in my area at least) is 8 megaBITs per second, that's 1 byte per second. File sizes are mostly in bytes not bits so it takes some time to get used to that. comcast also offers PowerBoost that will "bump" your connection to 20 megabits/s, but ony for the first 10MB (everything on the comcast site says MB for megabyte but it may be Mb for megabit and the web developers are just stupid)

most laptops don't have a reset on board but if you went with towers you could wire up a wire or two to the reset switch on the mobo and plug that into a serial port... I'm sure out there somewhere is a way to force a reset to one box from another

One of my good friends is a cop really nice guy.. when I was younger I had a few cops give me shit... but most of them (around here) are good guys.

If you want to re image via USB I think you're going to need to be onsite, but if you had them all on the same subnet and had them all set to boot off the network you could have one set to host the image(s) and a PXE server then all you'd have to do would be remotely issue a reboot and it would boot the new image.
