  1. ive been using acronis true image for quite some time now and enjoy it. It can even convert to/from windows backups, you can encrypt your backups with AES 256. Schedule backups. You can even exclude certain files and folders in the backup. The list goes on, but its worth money

  2. 1000mW is a little extreme

    and the downfall :(

while you will be able to see more wifi AP then you were before, you wont be able to transmit any data across it

it needs to be close to a 1:1 ratio for data to transmit properly

a 1000mW router with a 1000mW and some amplifers added you would be able to connect from a far distance

  3. the ezine scene seems to be dead but if you want to read the "history books" so to speak check out 2600, phrack, zf0, blacklisted411, h0no, cDc, ~el8 theres a bunch of others too that i cant think of atm

"...observed one of my students with a group of other children gathered around his laptop. Upon looking at his computer, I saw he was giving a demonstration of some sort. The student was showing the ability of the laptop and handing out Linux disks. After confiscating the disks I called a confrence with the student and that is how I came to discover you and your organization. Mr. Starks, I am sure you strongly believe in what you are doing but I cannot either support your efforts or allow them to happen in my classroom. At this point, I am not sure what you are doing is legal. No software is free and spreading that misconception is harmful. These children look up to adults for guidance and discipline. I will research this as time allows and I want to assure you, if you are doing anything illegal, I will pursue charges as the law allows. Mr. Starks, I along with many others tried Linux during college and I assure you, the claims you make are grossly over-stated and hinge on falsehoods. I admire your attempts in getting computers in the hands of disadvantaged people but putting linux on these machines is holding our kids back.

This is a world where Windows runs on virtually every computer and putting on a carnival show for an operating system is not helping these children at all. I am sure if you contacted Microsoft, they would be more than happy to supply you with copies of an older verison of Windows and that way, your computers would actually be of service to those receiving them..."

the list can go on FOSS and all its major supporters, the human gnome project, the countless schools, businesses that use linux

some people were just never meant to use a computer

  5. Ive sorta playing with the idea of creating a "hacker" showcar, and go touring to shows with it. Nissan 240sx (all the good stuff that goes into it). Having some sweet code on the side or the seats or wat not. Running a media center with linux and goodies. Just full of techy related stuff.

But after watching some hak5 episodes. A cluster setup would be sick stuff along with a dhcp / dns server for those o so yummy mitm attacks. Not to mention some pretty insane wireless antennas.

I have also being looking into get a small computer to tote around and that also sparked my idea

Soo like.... 5 of these with a couple of external 1TB HDD for extreme storage
