  1. There is something a little off about you...
  2. For just files and not the whole drive, I use file shredder http://download.cnet.com/File-Shredder/300...4-10662831.html works well for me. Well put
  3. Yea, we found a few decent ones on ebay, but I still prefer a store. But it's usually hard to beat ebay's prices so we might just go with that.
  4. I saw the CameraWorld one, all theirs are 250-500$, and the other one was for bulk orders, 1 lot was 10 cameras, for 1000$
  5. I'm looking to get an ip surveillance camera to use as a video baby monitor. The regular video baby monitors can only go to a small little screen, so I'm looking for a bit more freedom, and so my wife can view it while at work. http://www.bsti.com.tw/ip-surveillance/ip-...1-en_index.html This looks perfect, but unfortunately their website is borked and they are only offering 2 lesser ones on their ebay store. There are other sites with similar cameras, but they are all about 500$, and far outside of my budget for this project. Any suggestions for particular cameras (must have night vision, having sound is a plus, but not needed) or a good site to peruse. Thanks
  6. How do you like that mouse? My Logitech MX518 is having issues (randomly disconnecting and reconnecting, usually while playing counterstrike in a knife fight...). So I will be in the market for a new mouse here soon, once i throw this one against the wall in a fit of anger.

I can't believe I didn't say firefly in my original post, and I'm pretty sure I didn't say it in ay other posts, but didn't want to check all of them. I thought it was an awesome show, camera work reminded me of Battlestar Galactica. My wife thought it seemed cheap and unprofessional, but I think it added an extra something, like a rugged feel to the shows which I loved.
  8. Sounds like a 12 year old got hold of the internet again.
  9. Do you just want to install it to play around with it? or see how it works? Postfix is the best for what you want, but what do you want to do with it?
  10. I've always been a fan of black hole power, though making it mobile might be hard. ...yea, that the hard part, not the fashioning and harnessing a black hole, but making it so it can move... /sarcasm
  11. OH, the subtitle says random tech fact, I thought it was just any fact. I'm sure all of you know this one, but the first found "bug" in a computer system was in fact a moth trapped in between the points of a relay.

    Dual Monitors

Yea, that's what I've read somewhere, put I wanted to be sure. I guess I might just send him one of my old video cards with 2 VGA outs, since I don't think the motherboard supports it.

    Dual Monitors

My brother just bought a new-ish computer for a business, and wants to have dual monitors on it, but his video card only has a VGA and HDMI out, but apparently neither of the monitors he has supports HDMI. I think he was thinking of using the on-board graphics, it is a Intel chip-set, in conjunction with the video card, an ATI radeon HD 3400. I had him set the active video to the motherboard graphics, and now the computer doesn't see the ATI card in the device manager. He tried everything I could thing of, and everything google could thing of too. Since I'm extremely tired, I thought I might have just missed a simple little fix, so here I am. Is there a way to do this without buying a new card or monitor? He doesn't want to spend much more on this then he already has, since it's a small business
  14. Quick google I found http://www.passmark.com/products/pt.htm Part of the http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ thing Though it has been some years since the last time I benchmarked anything, so I can't weigh in on how good anything is.
  15. For the price of 249.99$ you can get a single license for a single computer.

He is a sociopath, he feels nothing (theoretically), though it's just in his mind. For lack of a better analogy, it's a software problem, not hardware. I guess that's why he was able to kinda lose it for a few minutes. Trying to stay vague for those people who haven't seen it yet =P

    Tv Shows

I started watching True Blood, got a few episodes in, and it was annoying my wife. Now that other people are watching it, she wants to start again, go figure =P. But yea, BSG is a damn good show, though slightly confusing at the end. New episode of Dexter was pretty good though for those who watch it.
  18. There are 119 ridges on the side of a quarter.
  19. Sorry, but I couldn't find my USB stick with the programs on it.
  20. I'm not sure if when you reformated to XT3 (or whatever you formated it as)it would write 0's to everything, I think it does though. Also, the fact that you over-wrote the hard drives with new info (ubuntu, packages, whatever is on the other partitions) I would say that the chance of getting pictures back would be quite small, but there are some programs that you could try to try and get them back. The names are slipping my mind atm, but I'm pretty sure they're on a usb stick around here, so once I find it I'll post them.
  21. There should be a small quiz after you use the code=P

New Big Bang Theory was up an hour or so after the show, my DVR cut off the first 2 or 3 minutes, but the torrent was there by the time I looked for it later that night.

So excited about the new Dexter!
  24. From what I've read, in order to do this, the person would need to make their own silicone chip. And if someone does go that far, Intel will get pissed and sue them for breaking it. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2010/09/i...tens-consumers/
