Yeah, you can install qtopia Linux on it, I tried to but couldn't because you need firmware 1.7.06 or 1.7.13 and after 2.0 you cant downgrade :| Heres a link to a guide telling you how to install it http://www.openpma.org/gen4/How-TO:_Install_Qtopia

I'm getting the AAO and yes it does have an Atheros chipset (a simple look at the wikipedia page told me that -_- ) . I can't wait for crimbo just so I can use my AAO xD, I have a Skydrive account set up to compensate for the 8Gb SSD :P. I'm getting the AAO but I was originally gonna get an Eee PC 701 but changed my mind after reading hundreds of reviews of the 2 and because the AAO is more powerful. So yeah I recommend the AAO.

Hey, I haven't got one yet (I'm getting it for sexmas :D ) but I do know that you can't boot from SDHC on an AAO so I'm gonna be booting it from a USB pendrive.

Thanks for all he info guys :D. I found out that there is actually a HDD version of the linux one and a SSD Windows XP one (runs very slow apparently). I checked TnkGrl and it was pretty helpful :). I think I'm gonna go with the SSD Linux one, SSD because it will be better for warwalking and warbiking seeing as the drive has no moving parts. (I fucked up my Vaio when I was wardriving and I lost a crucial Windows file and the computer refused to boot xD. Wardriving*Vaio+Speed mountains (not speed bumps)=Dead Vaio :P) and because it suits my budget well. I'm gonna replace Linpus with BT3 and when I update the SSD to a better one I'll triple boot XP, BT3 and OS X. And last of all I'm gonna replace the 512 Mb of RAM with 2Gb, buy a 6-cell battery and possibly put in bluetooth (probably not though, it's probably gonna take me a year to afford the extra RAM and battery xD let alone a new 16Gb SSD.

Before my Vaio's GFX card melted and I formatted my HDD I had around 60 of them on average, sometimes as high as 80.

Should I get the Windows XP or Linpus Linux version of the Aspire One? And if you have time can you possibly give me the pros and cons of each?

I recommend Kohan, Savage, Stratagus or playing Starcraft using WINE (I recommend he last one the most :P)

I would just like to point out that your sum is wrong :P it should be: DS+Camera+mp3+SD=Boner :P I will definitely be getting this, hopefully for my birthday next year :D it looks awesome (much better than the scratched original DS I have xD ). Im looking forward most to the DSi shop, the added sexiness and the mp3 player. My only gripe with it is that they removed the GBA slot from it, it was bad enough having to whip out my SNES to play the original GB and GBC games when I bought the original DS but now I will either need to buy a GB Micro or get my cube out whenever I want to play GBA games :(.
