  1. Cool thanks. I'm not quite sure how this relates to a PS3 hack but I'll take a look.
  2. First, let me just say I am completely new to pen testing and such but I am a veteran tech and I want to learn more. I recently got something in the mail that was a promotion for a new TV series. Attached to the side of a fake old 5 1/4 in floppy I noticed a USB edge connector. Printed on the side it read "Insert this into your computer to watch the first full episode now!". I thought for sure that they wouldn't give out a video on a thumb drive so I checked it out. When I plugged it in, it acted a lot like the Rubber Ducky I've seen on Hak5 (a clever bit of marketing I must say). I'm sure that it was coded as a HID because I saw it rapidly open the "Run" box then type a URL to go to it's website and then I assume hit OK or enter to execute it. My question is, can I modify this device to make it more like a Ducky? What tools would I use to explore/modify it's contents? Thanks in advance, I love this forum.
  3. Hey, you figured out my password! Damn, I thought it was long enough. :P
  4. Those guys have an amazing set of stones on them. I don't think it will end anytime soon.
  5. BTW the file is a 605kb wallpaper. And I also tried it with IE8, FF & Chrome. edit: Thanks VaKo, I uploaded it using that site so people could at least check it out. Let me know what you think: http://imgur.com/wRuW5.jpg
  6. I have uploaded a wallpaper image to the forums before but now it dosen't seem to be working. I fill out everything, select my image and hit upload. I watch it go to 100% but then I get a generic error. Before I "contact my administrator" has anyone else had this problem? Tanx
  7. Thanx, will give it a try.
  8. I'm currently checking google but I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable/updated wi-fi hotspot directory online. I used to know of a couple but the ones I knew don't exist anymore. -Thanks
  9. I got the same thing. Blocked the sender. I also noticed he/she/it was part of the "Banned" group. Nice... :P
  10. I've heard some pretty good things about Snort, but haven't tried it yet. Hope it works out for you.

Sick game ;) KILL KILL KILL!
  12. I love 2600, it's always a fun read, even if some of it is over my head.
  13. I have found that Spybot Search and Destroy is pretty awesome and very free! You can't beat that. B)
  14. I've had a couple of instances of rogue DHCP servers on my networks. They cause all sorts of confusion and mayhem... until I find them and break them into little pieces. This tool sounds pretty awesome and right up my alley. I think I'll play.... thanks.

    Haker Challange

Wish I had the skills to even consider that...
  16. Everything can be hacked. Most of the security/encryption stuff out there is designed to keep out the nosy ones. If someone wants something bad enough, the will break the lock.
  17. Could be very useful, thanx!
  18. I signed up for it and played a while on my laptop. It's pretty damn fun I must say. I tried adding it to my desktop but it just won't work. Oh, well..... edit: Oh yeah, I haven't played in a while so I forget my guys name....
  19. Nice case, I hope the guts are as impressive! B)
  20. Wakes, sit tight. Help is on the way.....
  21. I generally don't charge friends or family (I know, stupid). I do, however charge the people they refer me to. Usually, 20-30 an hour or I give a flat rate of $100 to back up their data, wipe the system and reload everything from scratch. In those cases I insist I have the PC at my house so I can work at my leisure.

    Plants vs Zombies

Looks like a rip, gonna try it.
  23. Yeah, but he claims he didn't put in any info yet (owner, user name, etc) (Sighs and shakes head)
  24. OK, get this everyone. It was my BOSS! He had pc that he "wiped" and started loading XP on it. I asked him why he gave it such a weird name. It was nothing like our normal pc naming convention. He claims it must have been automatically assigned. (yeah, ok). Anyway, crisis averted. Thought you guys might like to hear what happened. BTW: the pc name was DANIELLE-HRDUXY. Sorry but I've never seen a windows install give a name anything like that.
  25. Thanks for the suggestions guys. We're tracking down the switch it is connected to as we speak. The segment he's connected to is the majority of our PCs (about 400) but our switches are very well named, once we find it, it will be very easy to pinpoint the location. Also, I am going to set a reservation on our DHCP server for his MAC to something bogus like 0.0.0.0. That should cause some heartache for him in the future.
