  5. The file permissions should be 0777 not 7777 And your not going to really be able to modify the files being presented on the HTTPd, Unless you find a exploit.

  14. I'd say not enough power from the PSU, Try removing extra memory and extra devices and see if it still restarts. Could be a faulty memory problem?
  15. Well you could purchase a router/switch and use that for the LAN gateway after the current modem/router then control the QoS of P2P.

    Well he does have a powerful system, I wouldn't plan on gaming much in Linux.
  17. Well Putty is very "odd" I prefer a CLI. But Putty should be able to be used without any privileges.
  18. Not 100% sure if you need a Squid proxy to handle the request on the hosts end though, But shouldn't be to hard to configure. Read up on "-D" option in the manual pages for SSH.

  20. Can't you just salvage your data then reinstall Windows? It does need to be reinstalled every now & then.. (6/12 months)
  21. Setup a Squid proxy onto the host, Then tunnel your traffic through the port Squid uses. Configure Firefox to use a SOCKS tunnel. Don't login as root either, Create some more accounts for public use.
