  1. To enable DS to connect to a WiFi AP you'll need a Wifi ready game. When you start up the game it should give you an option for WFC settings, you go in there and configure one of the settings (it gives you an option to configure 3 AP settings) to search for AP and then put in a WEP key (if applicable) and that's basically it. You may have to dumb down the AP to a lower settings.
  2. Can anyone post their dnsmasq.conf file up. I just can't get any IP leased out.
  3. I don't think the remembered connection has to be un-encrypted. My WRT is WPA-PSK encrypted but FON still forges it and I connect (it doesn't give me an IP but that's a whole different story :P)
  4. As long as it doesn't brick the little guy i'm willing to try it.
  5. TSO, wireshark trick does work. Yesterday when the FON's eth0 interface to automatically get an IP from DHCP (DHCPd gets turned on for my ethernet on my laptop once you turn on ICS) I didn't know what the DHCP range was so i turned off the FON, turned on Wireshark for the lappy's ethernet and then turned on the FON and when t he FON started looking for an IP Wireshark picked it right up. Ofcourse reflashing the FON works too, I think i've done that 3 times :D
  6. Here's my setup: Laptop1 with ethernet to FON and wifi to WRT54g ICS Wifi and let FON connect via ethernet (FON's eth0 automatically gets an IP from my lappy's ethernet port) I see the SSID MyPlace and Fred (created manually after reading digininja's comment on one of the posts) Laptop2 connects to both MyPlace and Fred successfully but i just can't get any IP addresses. I checked the webif for network settings and DHCP is turned on for all the interfaces. What am I doing wrong? PS: I haven't yet hooked up the FON to the internet successfully, as I don't want to just plug it directly into my WRT and i want it to go thru my lappy.
  7. I can be really dumb sometimes, I missed the capital B in RedBoot. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. :-D
  8. I did copy back out.hex but step 10 cmd is just not working. Do I need to be in a specific folder to run the patch for Redboot config?
  9. I was going down Darren's list to get Jasager installed, got as far as step 9 where I successfully patched the kernel. After rebooting I SSH'd back in and now I can't see anything in any folders with WinSCP. I can still see listings in the SSH window but out.hex and other files are not there in the /tmp folder. Even then I somehow got the out.hex file in the file system but when I attempt to patch the Redboot config it says that there is no such thing. Should i just skip this step and just continue to the next one and flash the firmware or should I try again to get the Redboot config patched? Or maybe I need to go back to the old firmware. PS: BTW, I just got the Fon and it was at 0.7.1-r1, I remember somebody asking about the version of the new Fon's.
  10. Connect your computer to the Fon device and turn on wireshark, it should start seeing activity on it and should show you what IP its coming from. That's its new IP. If it doesn't have any IP you could turn on Internet Connection Sharing on your wifi and let the ethernet port as the port you are sharing with and it would turn on DHCP for that port and give an IP to your FON.
  11. I should readup first before ordering stuff. I ordered 2 of those puppies 5 mnts ago and now i see this thread :(
