the SSH splash page on login still states version 2.3
Also the news page on cloud.wifipineapple.com seems to be out of date not showing the newest version 2.3.1
-
and you use the default android usb teather?
lsusb or dmesg dosent show the android device. (tested on EVO LTE running stock/rooted)
-
velkrosmaak,
I dont think that it is included in 2.3.1
At least I could not get it working (dosent mean that it cant just that I, so-far, haven't gotten it working.
-
thanks Seb!
-
can you plug it into a full linux machine and try to get the vendorID?
-
All that makes sense if we were on a production environment Here, this is a hacker tool
the problem i see is what happens when you are using this hacker tool near other hackers?
-
seems like this could come as default if it dosent break anything.

Im not as familiar with Iptables as I should be but If i preform the commands listed on the wiki it break any other features?
-
Ill have to keep that model in mind when I grow out of this one.
-
What model USB didnt work? Just so ppl can stay away from it.

Are IPtables being used in 2.3.1?
Using the wan port for internet, I don't have access to give out to targets.
DNS is resolving for clients and the MKIV has internet. But clients cant get to the intertubes.
the WIKI page says I need to run some iptable commands but darren said here that is use was removed on version 1.0.1
my iptables -L results in no polices listed in the Chain.

Oh when I bought it it was on sale for 20 bucks!

Must be large.
The nice thing about the monoprice one is it is almost the same size as the pineapple. Offers 2 USB ports (one 1A and one 2.1A). It can charge and feed power to USB ports.
-
tools to pull might be
putty
wireshark
winscp
...
-
Also might be nice to have a way to unmount the USB Flash drive without issuing console commands.
-
Good call! Mr-Protocol

I know of 2 ways to mount a file system (there may be more).
1. add the entries into your fstab config page. (you did this) Next tell the OS to do what the fstab tells it to do with the command
mount -a
OR
2. Mount the filesystem without using fstab using the
mount
command.
The Fstab file is instructions for the os on how to mount the storage it needs. It is read each timt the os starts and when you run
mount -a
More information can be found by running (in shell)
mount -h

Have you looked into Voltaic Systems? I have never used them but they seem like they have nice products and then you would not need to deal with over charging the battery. It might mean monitoring might be a bit harder though.

Using POE adapter with a battery pack or wall wart. I was able to jump between power sources. Battery pack to poe injector to wall wart.
Not sure if anyone tried this or cares but it does work on my MK IV.
Helpful to know that it wont break anything and that it is possible if a capture session takes longer than you expected. Now i just need to buy another usb power cable
-
:(
Im not sure if this is a big deal to anyone but the Mark IV pineapple is not true POE as used in cisco switches, instead only for the poe injector used by this POE ADAPTER.

Notice I install, it only initially gives me the option to install to internal storage. After initial install, it then gives me the option to install to USB, once I select "install to USB" it returns to the initial option screen
this is because the usb folder probable exists, but since it isn't mounted to a drive it fails. Solving the reason the device is not showing in
lsusb
needs to be first then you can format and mount the file system and swap space.
-
the problem is that the usb is not being seen.
Have you tried when the pineapple is plugged in using the wall wart? (there may not be enough juice in your battery pack to power both the usb and the pineapple)
Have you tried another USB drive? I know the SanDisk Fit 4gb and 16gb work (16gb on sale this week at BestBuy)
-
This would be very usefull specialy when you are using your mobile to control the pineapple!
that is exactly my thought.

I would love to see a way to learn more about a module then having to search though the forums. What if part of the submission process was to create a man page OR README file that could be opened before installing a module?
How about an rss feed to alert users when new modules & firmware have been released and updated.
It might be nice if the feed could be read by the pineapple and be shown on the status page.
also what about downloading modules without internet access to the pineapple?
Another headache is having to click each and every module how about check boxes to choose the modules you want downloaded and also enabled. That way would could pick and choose the ones you want after a reflash?
Migration from one storage to another might be nice. (move to USB FLASH to Internal to OTHER USB FLASH)

I wonder if the voltage regulator in the pineapple has higher efficiencies at 10v rather than 5v. That might make the case for using them in series.
a case for keeping 5volts is if you want to use the setup to charge your phone or other USB bus devices.
