I dont think the USB drivers have been implemented into OpenWrt Yet... But I really wish i would have bought one when it was available instead on the Fon+

As far as not having a windows machine to work on you can always use Backtrack or another live distro and use the linux tools.

the heartbeat is not the wireless beacon.
The heartbeat it a signal sent back to FON headquarters letting them know that the fon is active (for mapping and account rights) making you an active contributing member fonera or an Alien that has to pay for service.

Now this is not on OpenWRT and it calls for firmware that has the ability to inject. But maybe it might help you

Now I have no idea what this means but I heard that adding a sd to the fon (or any router) currently is bit bashing.
Maybe someone can shed some light on what that means.

Ive got a tough decision.. Although I really want the tool of a FON with jasager I really think the FON concept is a noble one.
I really dont want to buy another fon but I think I may have found a solution.
I have a WRT54GS V1 already running DDWRT V24-rc1 and I think I can add features to allow me to make the ddwrt part of the FON network.
Heres the problem... I have to authenticate the WAN mac on the wrt and I have never been able to do this... Had anyone had experience with this?
Does anyone have working fon with fon firmware that can auth my mac address?
Here is the page I have been pulling instructions from...

do you know when the Fon 2 will be available for purchase?
I wish I would have picked one up when they went on sale.

Looking forward to it digininja. Let me know if you need any testing ran.
BTW do you own a FON 2.0?

Everything seemed Aok till
ifconfig ath0 10.1.1.1 up
the wireless light comes on for about a sec and then the router reboots ;(

Well Im scratching my head as I updated with that new package from
http://www.digininja.org/files/kmod-madwif...eros-2_mips.ipk
and it seemed to deploy properly but when I load up the karma interface and click to create and setup the ath0 interface the router seems to crash and reboot.

Anyone get nmap squeezed into the fon?
-
That would be sweet if you could do.
Good Luck!

Thanks DigiNinja

Is there a way we can make an image of the working router's fs? that way all you have to do is just deploy the image?

Alright...
The "opkg: invailid magic" error only happens when I try to Wget the files from digininja.com This doesnt happen when I SCP the files there to /tmp
-
well for opkg install -nodeps jasger-madwifi_1.ipk
I get
opkg: invalid magic

I hope someone can help me
I have my Fon+ setup with OpenWRT Kamikaze 8.09 X-WRT image.
The issue is I cannot get the Jasager madwifi package working. The system gives me an error when I try to run
opkg install -force-downgrade jasager-madwifi_1.ipkERROR: Cannot Satisfy the following dependencies for kmod-madwifi:
kernal (=2.6.21.5-atheros-1)
Thanks
-
But is there space for both application dependences?
I think this would be an awesome tool to have both "tools" and a few others (NMap, ect)
A nice switch blade device to go along with my other GO kit devices

Is there a way to switch from Interceptor mode to Jasager mode?
Pineapple to Monkey if you will.
(just ordered a Fon+ and booster antenna and cant wait till they get in.)

I purchased a Radioshack model battery and charger that was rated for 6v 1000 mAh for 80 cents. RS system just keeps dropping the price till it is free. The price tag was 4 bucks. I bought 2 so i could mount one charger to the fon and the other for power.

airbase?
is that the aircrack-ng suite?
