we need something simple someone could code it if the info was on a usable database *cough* hak5 project idea*cough* .... it would say the song name and artist and then run it aginst the list and update the id3 tags. This would not be hard at all just idk if it would jump to folder where they would be thrown aginst the database and then when the update of the file was successful it would toss it back into the mp3 listed folder.... we need to keep things simple or they get WAY too complicated. I guess for now the best thing is as simple as a program to find and update the tags. We do what we can here at hak5 but not all of us are rocket scientists.

If it isent possability it wont brick on you... things like this always need to be taken with a grain of salt cuz if u phail... and its a possability... whoops 20 bucks plus whatever just shot out my door! it takes a bit of skill and knowledge at times as well. I have seen people do some pritty tricky stuff within the base OS of the router and also it sometime takes some skill to get at the heart of your router. These things arent always as simple as they look. But for now id look around and see what you can find as far as information goes about this befor you go ahead with it. I bet you can find ppl around the netz skilled enough to load the base OS onto it for a price. *shrugs* so its a yes and no situation! --- good luck!

ok so ive seen this thing and i run dd-wrt on my router. The thing is some of these devices have a set ammount of system ram to where they can store the information. The write ups on alot of these routers can be found at dd-wrt's web site for basic information on each router and what it can hold as far as space. So we might want to think about some of the applications as "hacker add in moduals" or smaller programs to lay on top of a base internal OS so we gather the information as it sits. We need to start on a mind set of "micro backtrack for wifi routers".. ive seen some routers that go as big on ram as 64 megs of ram. I dont think that they get any bigger but the fon router was an awsome modulated way to go. I would like a more detailed set of information on how it was installed onto the router if possable. I really hope this project rolls out into a spasm of ideas just like the usb hacks that we have done in the past. :P

since people have been around here at hak5... whom has the oldest hak5 irc logs and can you prove it? this should be interesting for thoes of us who have not been around hak5 irc that much.

you are the master of all that is pandora it seems! i would love to see all of this in a "portable" version so things can be stored on usb and ran from that area... id like to see something as complex as the switchblade project implemented so that way things are sudden automatic as soon as the stick is inserted into the computer it is running on. We have the technology.... We CAN build it!

the other day i was up working on my server because i needed something to do, and the dream of bringing back my old website was kinda eating me up inside! So finally with some help the other day by The_PHP_jedi and bryan i was able to fix my no existing php issue that had some how wired its way through. I was told by the jedi that all it was was a permissions issue... from there i mass fixed the problem and from there was able to go on about everything else. Btw jedi thanks again! Ne way ... through out the day i was thinking to myself: man this web page is bland n boring i wonder what i can do to improve it... Content i know is key to improving traffic to the page! i am a geek just like you my friend. as far as help spend some time doing what you like to do. I know i have been and still kinda am in ur situation but i make do with what i got! i do go and create things... sometimes they have to be taken down but check this out: http://techblog.kicks-ass.net:2140/ i made that with some minor help and alot of hrs put into learning linux terminal. yeah man all it took for me to change my ways was to give up my old way of thinking. I became social... i forced myself into speaking to random people. I did this while i was at collage and forced myself into doing it so that way i could become friends with thoes i spent most of my time with.... it may just take some time man. I know it took me tell then to relise that my high school days were meaningless. When i was forced to come back home i relised alot of thoes whom had criticized me in the past were not doing so well as they had hoped. So take your skillz and put them to a good use like i did! It may earn you a high paying job in the future.

OK dudes after much thought i was walking around and realised that no one has even driven any thought into what Darren is trying to do. The OS on a stick...with u3 tech. well i came across a micro OS that would be usable in this situation and it is called goblinx. it is the new micro release and i was thinking of using it cuz of the fact it only takes a foot print of 100 megs and the boot loader on the CD ROM partition is a smart idea... thing is we need to come together and see what we can pull together as a team. here is a screen shot of it: http://www.goblinx.com.br/en/images/image_19.jpg[/img] please let me know what u think. hey drop me an email for an invite... or do like patric norton and robert harron did when gmail came out and just list the link to the invites... or was it kevin? eh all i know is the great people at what was once known as the screen savers did it and i was thankful for it cuz thats how i got my gmail account! yeah so if any *cough* Darren *cough* would be nice and send me an invite i would be very greatful. i dident know where to post this but... what is your best batch file fun that you or other users have created and what do they do? (*post the code plz!*) if im in the wrong area plz move this! (windows batch files only)

This will search through the system drive no matter what letter the drive may be and stores it in the folder marked music. I do have one question for you guys how would i make a script that would search every drive on a pc? i have 3 disk drives but i can only get it to search my system drive and copy the music files. i tried this batch script in vista and well... it left alot to be desired... i will try it on an xp machine when i go home tomarrow! anyway does anyone know why it would have failed?
