  1. Just put the money through then. I totally stopped watching Hak.5 last year (Started on the release of ep 1x03 i think, back when irc was on Efnet). I am gonna start watching again, download all the back eps. (Gonna take awhile, damn australian ISP and thier throttaling). I alway wanted to donate money but was unemployed and had no paypal account, but thats all changed. Enjoy the money guys, just dont go blow it on zombie hookers ok Darren. Peace.
  2. I think a good collective name would be the Hak5 cluster, meaning that hak5 isnt just darren, wess and alli, its a community effort, we all play our part in the making of hak5. I'm fine with hakling myself.
  3. I would upgrade to adsl2+ if i could but according to the tpg web site i cant. But what I'm saying its not the speed I'm complaining about its that they shape the connection at ridiculously small amounts. I have not found a true unlimited adsl2+ plan yet.
  4. Man I wish i had that connection, i would download so much, my torrent client would never be closed. I would need to buy a new hard drive every week.
  5. I thought i would start a thread for aussies to vent about our isp's shaping our internet. I would like to talk about what isp you are using and what your paying. I'm with TPG and paying $69.95 a month for 1.5mb/256kb and 25 gig before getting shaped to 64kbs. The cheapest true unlimited plan that I have found is with Dodo for $100
  6. In theory its a good idea, but the plain fact is that people dont like to be told what to do and what to do on there own computers and they will fight tooth and nail for it. I mean in a perfect world the idea would totally work, well in a perfect world a idea like that would not exist. But i do agree with that the spammer them selfs should have a MUCH harder penalty given to them. But the whole idea of punishing their family/public is not a good idea imo. There are some sick people out there that do what they want and screw with the outcome.
  7. I do think that awareness of zombie machines needs to be more prevalent. I mean people think that just because they have Norton Internet Security that they are invincible on the net, but i don't get how fining the user is going to help anything, its like putting a fine on getting robbed, its just kicking a dead horse.
  8. I don't think that we will ever get rid of Spam, its like herpies, its bad but its not going to stop people from having sex, just like Spam isn't going to stop people from using email. I think that increasing the punishment for Spam will stop some but not all, people will do _anything_ for money. I don't think that fining the zombie computer owner is a good idea, but the whole idea of disconnecting it from the Internet until it has been fix is a great idea, but i highly doubt that the normal mum and dad computer user would like there Internet taken away from them for something they didn't do. As punishing there family members i don't think is the right idea, i mean i wouldn't like it one day the cops show up and take my computer and stuff because my brother sent Spam emails.

    email's

gmail and my isp mail does me just fine, although i should step away from my isp email cause i got a feeling i might go to a different one and i dont want to have to tell so many people my new email.
  10. I think i should make a podcast and disscuss things i have no idea about and call it, this week in n00b. TWiN people like hearing n00b's talk about tech right?
  11. You know your a noob when: you ask someone to "photoshop" some photo's with out giving any other spesifications. My brother gf actually said that and after 10 minutes of talking my bro still had no idea as to what she was trying to say.
  12. Mine: OS: Ubuntu 6.06 WM: Gnome Programs running: firefox gmpc - for the music player daemon running on another computer I like my desktop very minimal and no fancy stuff, if i wanted a fancy looking computer i would have bought a mac. http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/6593/081006mu4.jpg
  13. you can never go wrong with mplayer, plays nearly everything and dosnt rape your system. if you want a more gui based player, totem-xine is always a good choice. vlc is also good. i have all 3 installed on my ubuntu system(all avalible with apt-get with the right repos), i just keep switching between them.
  14. its simply my name, it seems to be rare, i google my name all the time and all i seem to get is me, my family and misspelling's of bryan.
