  1. Thanks man, although I found something even simpler and it integrates nicely with BASH. Zenity. :)
  2. Hey fellow forum members. Quick question, I need to build a GUI for a small bash script. Nothing to fancy, just a couple of buttons and some text strings would do the job. Preferably cross platform. What is the fastest way of doing such a task? I've looked into Apple's Xcode but I find it to be a little to much job for such a simple program. Any suggestions? Love gEEEk
  3. Is it possible to make a persistent install? And if, how? :)
  4. I'm sorta ashamed to be asking such a basic question but my Belkin N Wireless router crapped out on me a couple of days ago and I'm considering replacing it. Since there is an enormous amount of routers on the market ATM I need some guidance to narrow the search down. - I need it to be stable, reliable and "fast" - Currently I get 24 Mbit down and 2,5 Mbit up, and I want don't want the router to bottleneck. - I need it to be able to handle up to 5-6 devices simultaneously. - Not in the "Cisco-pricerange" :P Do you guys have any recommendations as of which router I should get? /gEEEk
  5. Well, I quickly scanned through the hardware compability list at Smoothwalls website and it seems no Wifi-NICs are supported. You could set up a separate access point though, but that might bottleneck the setup.. : /
  6. Heck you can use mine if you want: http://poxy.site11.com/ It's hosted on 000webhost, works flawlessly.. according to my experince atleast.. :) / gEEEk
  7. Hello guys. You see, I want to be able to use my computer as a wireless bridge for my 360 since I don't have a wireless adapter for it. So, Xbox 360 connected to computer via ethernet, and the computer is connected to my router wirelessly. What I want to do is port forward a couple of ports to my xbox 360 which is using the computers wireless adapter, is it possible? And how would I do that? Because the 360 does not have it's own ip adress, since it's using the wireless card in the computer right? I would guess that I first port forward the ports to the computer, and then from the computer I port to the xbox 360. But I really have no idea.. The computer is running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit if that'll give you any help.. / gEEEk

    DHCP gone mad?

The card is a few years old but it should be able to get an IP. Atm I'm using WPA-PSK since that encryption worked well on my previous router. The router is set to hand out atleast 50-60 ips. The computer is running WinXp with SP2. I'll update the drivers for the card as soon as I get home. And the router is running the most recent FW. Ty for the responses, keep em commin! / gEEEk

    DHCP gone mad?

Well hello there. I recently changed my router to an "N" model with more speed, more range etc.. Everything works great except one thing. One of the computers on my network can't obtain an IP from the router.. Works on every other computer but not that on.. The router is set to work on both b/g/n/ so that shouldn't be any issue. Well, help? :S /gEEEk

    Hacking MSN

Ok list3n. This is the fastest and easiest way. On Windows: Start - Run - Type: cmd - when the black haxx0r box comes up, type color 2 - Now when the text is green, type: hack [MSN-account]@[hotmail/live/msn.com]. This will take about 5 minutes, then you have the password mkay?
  12. 0MG! I'm g0nn4 h3lp u out k? First: open a command-prompt or a terminal any type: hack This will give you admin privs mmkay? G00d luck! 1337H4xx
  13. SyncBack with the option to keep two folders identical! :) /gEEEk
  14. Psst.. Xandros (The EeePC OS) exist on some torrenttrackers. But hey, winners don't do warrez.. Otherwise, DSL is quite a good option. :)
  15. OutRun, can't remember on which console though. I remember I had a joystick! :) The first GameBoy (The HUGE yellow one with black and white or.. light green or black..? ) - Super Mario Land! - Pokemon Red - Donkey Kong Playstation One - Tekken 3 - GTA - Fifa - NHL etc.. and loads of other titles! I'm not as old as you guys so my console are not as "retro" as yours :)
  16. I'm not sure you could build that kind of machine without spending atleast 400 bucks. Correct me if I'm wrong but I took a look at my local computer dealer and the prices for all the components for this machine isn't going to be cheap. I've found another machine that Acer is releasing with a Geforce 9400 card (integrated obviously). Might be a perfect system to bring to LAN partys.. Offcourse it's not going to run Crysis, but some low-end LAN games.. :) /gEEEk

Medieval Total War!! :) and Empire Total War!! :) /gEEEk
  18. The super small computer "Fit-PC2" is being released during 2009. Apparently, it's ideal for home servers due to the low power use (6 watt). It makes use of an Intel Atom Z530 running on 1,6 gigaherts, 1 gigabyte RAM and a 160 gigabyte HD. It's got all the necessary components such as 802.11g-standard, ethernet, USB etc.. And this tiny machine can apparently handle a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 via DVI. I'm not trying to make to promote this machine or anything, I just wanted to enlighten you. Because this truly is ideal for either a low-end media center or a homeserver just sitting next to your router/switch with no need for any screen or additional equipment. The price is around 350 USD. What's your opinions about this product? Is it worth the money? I'm really considering buying one actually. / gEEEk
  19. Hmm.. I've made something wrong.. The 360 isn't able to obtain an IP-adress from the computer. And the computer can't access internet..
  20. Hello. Well, what I want to accomplish is: I have a laptop running Ubuntu 9.04 connected to my Wireless Network. Could I share this connection to my Xbox 360 by using a crossover cable from the laptop to the 360? What kind of software do I need and how would I do?

    Friendly p2p

I think OneSwarm might be what you're looking for. Check it out. /gEEEk
  22. Meh, seems like we're overpopulated by Windows desktops in this thread atm. /gEEEk
  23. Ubuntu 9.04 has an integrated encryption feature, you might want to take a look at that. Good luck! /gEEEk
  24. Is rtt.hak5.org currently down? Doesnt respond to my probes atleast.. :S
