  1. Yes it does. Mac is BSD shot full of holes. Apple takes open source software and charges 400$ for it.
  2. Title of topic is supposed to be Need- not neex. Ubuntu is getting really old. I am looking for a new *nix OS to use as a desktop. I was going to throw Solaris on my desktop but i was wondering if anyone could recommend me a different highly stable solution. I uaully leave my systems on because they are "busy" alot. throw me some distros or should i just stick with open solaris?
  3. I love Rush and I wondering how many Hak5 fans are Rush fans?
  4. If its going to be a thing for you and your friends IRC seems to be more of a pain in the ass then its worth. You should set up a Jabber server. http://www.igniterealtime.org/ Use Openfire for your server. Its easier then an IRC server. Ignite realtime also makes a client called Spark, You could use other client like pidgin as well.
  5. It must be something really easy that we arent noticing because we are to busy making everying really complex
  6. Age definately impacts your perception on someone. That perception can completely change though, after talking with them for a while. I also find that hating their guts goes away alot easier if they arent a total arrogant pile of fuck
  7. So..... your router is configured to have a static internet ip address? and if you hit the reset button you have to give it this address manually. if this is the case. go to http://whatsmyip.org/ and that is your internet IP address. write it down, hit the reset button on your router, log in and put that address back in as the internet address
  8. I like WoW.... and linux... I had WoW running better in linux than I did in windows.
  9. I need to dump LM hashes just like the USB switchblade does. I only need the one EXE. Can somebody please tell me where I can get the nice little exe. Thanks
  10. I think that students should have access to laptops. This will work 100% if implemented properly. Textbooks should not be completely aband0ned. The teachers should keep eyes on student to make sure they are not playing games and instant messaging. You would have access to the web and then this becomes a big problem which i think needs to be fixed anyway: I always find that the worst thing with school is the internet filters. They are COMPLETELY outrageous. They interfere with browsing anything. I think the only thing in schools that should be blocked is sites dedicated to games, and porn.
  11. http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/128643/be...m-come-april-1/ article ^^
  12. bakb0ne, YOUR SIG... I blew on my screen to try to get the bug off....
  13. I was thinking about setting up my own ISP. Once you get the money for the direct line from wherever you are pretty much set. Thats the biggest cost.
  14. I have been using the open source music player Songbird for a long time now. I decided i make a thread about it here for the people that havent heard of it. I love it. It runs under Linux/Windows/Mac. Has many features. Its changed alot since i first found it back when they were still comming up with ideas. I personally think that they changed it a little to much but its still a great player.
  15. "..you cant arrange desktop icons by penis" I saw that video a long time ago. I wanted to watch it again but i couldnt find it. I dont beleive that i just found it.
  16. Linux would be the most powerfull kernel if the developers started working with it. Imagine big games like crysis running on a linux machine. It would be amazing. For me a many other people running linux is so easy. I found my switch from windows to linux to be a very great experience. It was more fun i didnt have to maintain much because nothing ever went wrong. If the developers started working with linux it could very well be head to head with windows in a few years.
  17. The sad thing is thats true. The funny part is, people would sit there scratching their heads thinking its way harder than it is. :P
  18. Hak5 did a segment. They used "Cluster Knoppix"
