replace the laser its a 10 min job and there dirt cheap on ebay if you replace the whole drive you willl need to extract the drive key from the old one and flash it to the replacement drive

my 32bit vista idles at 698 meg used out of 2gig how ever it is a new install so doesnt have much running

my first thoughts was buy the parts and build it yourself as £150 for labour is a bit much as you can throw that system together in less than half an hour how ever if as stated above if you get a warranty then its just about evens out

well i am and always will be an amd fanboy but as im typing this from my newly built less than an hour old amd phenom x4 9500 rig i would say that cpu motherboard memory all for £190 sorry but its the price point that does it for me with amd i would get nowhere near that if i wanted to go quad with intel yeah there faster but god damn it aint like im going to be finding a cure for cancer with it

im using a 42" lcd hd tv at 720p via a dvi to hdmi cable on an ati hd2400 ( bought it just for x264 hardware decoding ) before setting ie to ignore font sizes specified on webpages it was a nightmare as i felt i was going cross eyed trying to focus on the text i know ie sucks buit its the only browser ive found that lets me have the option of overiding specified font size but im writing this messsage now sat about 9 foot from the screen with no problems how ever that doesnt solve the font settings out of browsing but you can solve that by upping the dpi in your display settings as the standard windows settings of 96 dpi is to small but 120 is to big so go for something custom that suits your needs oh and xbmc FTW

never seen a heatsink that small i did use some zalman self adesive vga ram heatsinks for my 360 once you could try cutting them down with a dremmel if you havent got enough room for the overhang they usualy come with a couple of extra adesive pads just incase you ruin the one on the heatsink when cutting it up these look about your best bet http://www.universaluk.com/acatalog/Zalman...atsink_Kit.html

its the one system out of my many that i care the less about so im not bothered about damaging it while out and about diong what we do plus its the only lappy i have with a serial and paralel port on of wich i use daily

sorry to burst your bubble but unless you are using your own mac address in the hacked modem then you ARE cloning somebody elses mac in the same area as you but a different ubr gateway unless your so called cable guru has set a bogus account up for you to use the mac address from?? i doubt that though because if he did why not just set it up at top speed instead of you having to force the config file from the tftp server
