  1. I'm currently working on a small project for my American Government class (it beats writing an essay any day). The basis is that I am to design a website that would list elected representatives native to that particular state, county, and city. My original intent was to simply dump all of the data into a SQL database and pull it into different pages. However, I'm not currently sure if there's a script available that would allow me to do something similar to this. Essentially: I would have a dropdown list, and once a selection is made it will automatically take you to the respected page and display all data related to that particular location or selection. Any thoughts/tips/tricks/ideas? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bobby
  2. I'm sure there's a way to do this and I'm just out of it tonight. Basically, I'm using MySQL Administrator (the now EOL version) to fulfill automatic full backups of my database. I gave Workbench a try, but sadly to say, I messed that up really quick when I deleted most of the tables in my database. Essentially, I have backups scheduled to be automatically created every Friday at midnight. My question is: Is there a way to automatically have every new update FTP'd to a remote location so that I may have the backup in another location away from my home hard drive? I'd rather not have to actually manually interfere after every update to ensure that the correct file gets uploaded next time. Thanks, Bobby
  3. I would like to Partition my current C drive, running XP Pro, without losing any data. I want to take about, eh, 15g or so and devote it to another drive in order to install Windows 7 Beta. I also want to be able to install it without any booting problems when the Beta is over, should I remove the old operating system and want to join the partitions together again. Any information would be useful! --Bobby
  4. Sorry, I wasn't sure of whether or not to post this here or in the Questions forum, so sorry if it's the wrong place. I downloaded a game and it was loaded with junk, it seems like I removed most of it, but there's still a nagging program somewhere trying to put trojans inside my two hard drives. The trojan itself is a Generic!atr and the program keeps trying to put it in the root hard drives as "autorun.inf", I've done what I can, but I just can't seem to get rid of it.
  5. I've been realizing that maybe I shouldn't be using Professional as my home-based operating system. I really don't do many business related activities, and this I figure Media Center 2005 would be a better option for now. I'm not a big fan of Vista, which is why I have narrowed the options down to these two. Your thoughts?
  6. Looks like the NV 8600GT is the favorable so far, I guess I'll look into that one, and I'll check in my case when I get home for the connector just to make sure.
  7. Basically, what I plan to do is purchase a new video card, however, I'm not quite sure which one will work with my default system. Basically, I'll link the eMachines site so you can look at the default system specs, as nothing has changed, of the most part. http://emachines.com/support/product_suppo...amp;model=W3609 You'll have to click the "+" next to Specifications to see the specs. The only thing I changed in the system was the RAM, which is now at 2gb. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820141199 The above link is the new RAM. I'd appreciate any feedback on what video card I should go for, preferably $90 or less. I'd like to at least be able to run TF2 at decent settings, and run WoW on high settings without it being jittery. Thanks upfront for any help, Bobby
  8. I know there's a way to do this, but I'm just not quite sure how. Basically what I want to do is have a PHP script on my local machine running Apache (and obviously PHP as well) that when ran, I can have the option of opening programs from another location. Very handy if I'm at work and wish to launch something before I get home. I was just wondering if anyone knew exactly how to do this, and if there's any limitations.
