  1. robocopy and xcopy have this option. vista has both of these and xp only has xcopy. I don't remember the parameters to do it, but all you have to do is use the --help parameter and read...=]
  2. It's SP2. Can't believe I forgot about the slipstream! I was going to make one that had the drivers install on it, just never got around to it. I know a good pack of drivers, http://driverpacks.net/. It installed some of the hardware on another computer I worked on. Combine the drivers with driver forge and you have an installer for your drivers. For the slipstream I'm using nLite, but don't you need to add the drivers in a ".cab" file? I don't know how to make that. I did use a tool to make it, but it didn't work for some reason. I don't remember what the command was to execute. Will nLite accept the 7z files that come from the driverpacks site?
  3. How would I install the drivers? I can't login because it blue screens during the startup. "start normally" 1...2...3...BSOD
  4. Vista can be deleted. Just the problem is you need Vista to use the hardware! I wiped Vista off my laptop and put Xubuntu on it then decided to dual boot XP and linux, problem is XP won't recognize the "Vista only" hardware so I blue screened every start up!
  5. http://www.ss64.com/nt/syntax-args.html should help. Spread the word of this site. It's fucking awesome. It even helps for Bash scripting, Visual Basic, SQL Server, Oracle, and Powershell. Spread the word! Help the people! (like my 3rd time posting this site for batch help)
  6. %username% I think there is another one...or it could just be this one. I forget. Lol. There you go!
  7. I was really wondering if I could get the 'date' and 'time' variables to be able to be called from the 'yourbatch.bat' instead of adding to the vbs. Haven't tried yet, but in 'yourbatch.bat' I'll put something like... set "date=%date%" set "time=%time%" This would let me use 'anotherbatch.bat' to use the date and time variables... call 'yourbatch.bat' echo %date% echo %time% Get what I mean? Anyway, thanks for all the info! Very useful.
  8. I caught the missing parenthesis when I was looking at the code, which was cool because I don't know vb. Yet another thing I learned...I need to run the vb script. Lol. I was just running the batch file; no wonder it didn't work! Do you know of a way to get it so that the date and time variables are useable to all my batch files? Or even a way to do it from within a batch file?
  9. I don't see why they'd disable scripting host (the service that enables VBscripts and batch files), that would stop alot of stuff like windows update. They only option I think would be the commond.com or make the batch file an exe
  10. DMilton, I can't get your vbs to work. Maybe it's just that I'm on Vista, but it gives me the regular date and time variables. I have 'yourbatch.bat' set to 'vars.cmd' and then in there it makes a folder calling the variables '%date%-%time%'. P.S. I also attempted to call 'vars.cmd' to see if that works too. I want all the variables set in the 'vars.cmd' and then have all my batch files call 'vars.cmd' (looks neater and more effeicent)
  11. I'm on a vista machine right now [Vista Home Business] and I have unlocker both portable and useable. It works very well for those stubborn files/folders. It did the job when deleting this folder [with a file which was said to be in use but was blank] that both killbox and eraser couldn't deal with. # to make portable just put the 'exe' and 'sys' inside the same directory once ran, it'll generate a 'cfg' file from there all you need is to make a shortcut to the sendto menu that is how I got around installing it! =D

  14. You could also be using IronGeek's TightVNC build. It's meant for a stealthy install and run. All you need to do is run his batch file and it installs everything for you. http://www.irongeek.com/downloads/RemoteTightVNC.zip
