  3. Virgin will have a cap, they're bastards like that. ==Further research from Virgin Media's website revealed.. 1) What is our Acceptable Usage Policy? Here at Virgin Media, we want all our customers to get the best service possible from their broadband. That means speedy downloads for all users - not just a few. When someone is downloading a particularly large amount of information over a long period of time, it can slow down the Internet speed for other users who might just be checking their email or browsing online. So, to make sure our service is fair for everybody, we monitor network performance and if someone is downloading a large amount of data and impacting others we may moderate their speed during the peak times (4pm till midnight weekdays and 10am to midnight on the weekend). This ensures that the service doesn't get blocked up with people using more than their fair share on our unlimited service. http://www.virgin.net/helpme/broadband/faq...cs_traffic.html

  7. I fixed it with the following: Opened Kismet with Wifi0, Closed kismet. Opened konsole, typed: kismet Works, Unusual...
  8. Hi, all. When I boot into Kismet (Backtrack 3) on my Acer Aspire One I get the option: Which network device do I want to use. Wifi0 or Ath0, if I choose Wifi0 Kismet loads up but doesn't show any access points/broadcasting devices etc (Wifi0 is 'no wireless extensions' in iwconfig). If I choose Ath0 Kismet shows some code (As if it were going to open the GUI) then closes and does not re-open. Then when I go to kismet again it shows: 'Do you want to use: Wifi0, Ath0 or Ath1?' This goes on and on, Ath0, 1, 2, 3 etc all appear each time kismet opens (Not fully opens) it creates a new Ath adapter showing as IEEE 802.11. Any advice?
  9. @ http://www.ogswathe.com/ Just curious, was this written using microsoft word?
  10. We're all people. People, by nature, hate change. Vista is different, not necessarily better, not necessarily worse. It depends on the system and the user. The one thing that remains is that people hate change. I use Ubuntu sometimes on my Macbook, you have no idea how much work is involved in getting a Linux distro to work with all the Macbook hardware. Even after 2 days of work linux still doesn't fully recognise my sound drivers, allow me to properly use my WiFi card, adjust volume control properly, support my microphone, support my webcam or support the majority of my hotkeys. Not to mention half the time when I reboot my WiFi card pulls a vanishing act and my fans stop spinning. While alternatives are probably avaliable for the problems mentioned above, the time, effort and work arounds required do not add up to more than getting over the ego trip of 'I use linux omg omg'. I use Win XP on my Macbook and Vista on my desktop, I hate change. But shit happens and times change, grow up ;)
  11. Probably run on a quad core, 8GB ram fully tuned custom built laptop >.> 'Ohh, it's great!' Until they try and ship it on a Celeron M 2.4 with 512MB RAM.
  12. I watched Season 1 Ep 1 and then watched Some of Season 3, the show has come a long way since its beginnings - I think as long as the crew keep pumping out the Tech I'll keep watching. Just don't go the way PurePwnage did and remember your roots, don't get too 'trying to be commercial'. You've hit a good topic stick with it ;) N.b. The Season 1 links (Particular: 1-4) return annoying Firefox errors about Null scripts. Take a look.
  13. Hi, everyone. I have a tablet PC that is currently running windows, the specs of the tablet PC are quite low - about that of an EEEPC but a larger hard disk drive. I am looking for a linux distribution that has support for or is designed for use with a Tablet PC, I have looked around google with little creditable results - So i'm asking here for some valuable feedback. If i'm looking for a linux-based OS to run on my tablet PC, which would be the best for touch screen support? Many thanks, James
  14. I chuckled IRL, But really nice review. Really answered a lot of questions for me about the little gem. I've been looking for something BT3 supported that's small enough but has a step up on the eeepc's annoying keyboard. Thanks, Darren
  15. I agree with Vako, being able to see what they are exactly saying would be nice. :) These letters are usually pretty generic 'Give us £xxxxx or we may have to pursue legal action.'
  16. Stuffs: Case Macbook Eeepc Setup@ Here
  17. Agree. Most home users will have a Dynamic IP, the mere fact that your IP can change from one second to another is a good starting point in a legal defence. Having said that, I'd imagine that some if not most ISPs will record which line has which IP at which time, meaning they could see for example: From 1.30AM - 2.30AM on 1/1/07 IP '1.1.1.1' was downloading from 'illigitimate' sources. & from 1AM - 3AM on 1/1/07 IP '1.1.1.1' was leased to <you>. I guess it depends on what they've got on you in terms of evidece, for which I doubt they'd reveal out-of-court.
