  1. I found where someone said it can do 720p. This thread, post 64. Now the problem is hooking it up to the TV. Anybody have any experience doing this from VGA?
  2. Yes it does. I think it does 1080i and it definitely does 720p. EDIT: Yes it does 1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i
  3. I'm thinking of making a really lightweight home theater PC. As the title says, I am planning on using a Dual Core Atom chip. In particular, this one. With 2GB of RAM and a 250 GB hard drive, I can have this unit completely together for about $275 and everything purchased locally. I have read somewhere that this CPU is capable of playing 720p content and I probably won't play anything bigger than that. What do you guys think? Will this have enough power to play back this content? The second part of my question is how do I connect it to my TV. I have a Sony Grand WEGA TV that is a couple of years old now. It has a couple of component inputs and a DVI input. Looking through the manual it says this about the DVI port: 1 terminal, 3.3 V T.M.D.S., 50 ohms The DVI-HDTV input terminal is compliant with the EIA-861 standard and is not intended for use with personal computers. I would like to output to the TV in a higher resolution than 480p. The audio part is easy (3.5mm jack to RCA) but the video part is tricky. What do you guys suggest? Thanks for your help, Spencer
  4. I see it. Now I gotta find time to watch it. If anyone is interested its ep 1x08
  5. I am looking for a solution to run content from my computer to my TV. It needs to support audio and video coming out of my computer. The computer has S-Video and VGA coming out of it but if I need to upgrade from onboard video that shouldn't be a problem. I need to run it 32 feet (maybe a little less because I measured big). I was looking at something like this. This wouldn't be too bad but I would like if it supported more than 480p. HD would be nice but I'm not looking to spend a fortune. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks, Spencer
  6. I use handbrake but it doesn't work on protected DVD's.
  7. Does anybody know if there is a DVD ripper for the Mac? I am getting a Mac and need an alternative to DVD Decrypter. I use it to rip movies that I own so that I can put them on my iPod. I use Handbrake after so all it needs to do is strip the protection and output it to an ISO or VIDEO_TS folder. Thanks
  8. You could try sending an email to your phone. Your email address would be 1-areacode-phonenumber@whateveryourserviceprovidersthingis you can probably find it somewhere on the internet. Once you have this email on your phone then you can probably hit reply and it will go to the email address.
  9. Congrats. You made a post on Lifehacker. http://lifehacker.com/386811/shutdown-wind...derbird-edition
  10. I like it. I set up something like this with Outlook before. We definitely need more threads like this one. Good work.
  11. I have no desire to switch to Vista. I just saw it and wondered. Maybe this information will come in handy one day when a less computer literate friend who shamefully bought Vista with their computer needs my help or when there is a good reason to go to Vista.
  12. I was just looking through a magazine and I saw that Vista had cut the price of Vista on both the upgrade and full version. The magazine only mentioned Ultimate and Premium but whatever. I got me thinking, could you buy an upgrade version of Vista, download a full version from a torrent site, and use the key that came with the version you bought? Is that within the right of the EULA? You would save yourself some cash but would Microsoft me mad at you?
