  1. G'day All, On the wifi pineapple university website Darren talks about a virtual Kali Linux set up. Would someone be able to recommend a site, video or forum that can help me set that up. Cheers,
  2. But during the 2.0.3 update using the PUTTY and WinSCP it has just got me back to square one. Well here's to another 48 hours to see what will happen. Im really over this thing at the moment.
  3. well mine has just started working. So thats now 2 for 2 on just not plugging it in for a while. I left mine for 48hours.
  4. lol, It's been a bit like that hey. um i haven't had any luck getting past the initial set up, my keeps freezing. Can you remember if there was anything special you did that got it all the way to initialise?
  5. Python2004 was that my post in another thread? If not that is now two people who have a similar fix.
  6. yeah i think the common factor in this problem is we all have brand new pineapples going from factory to the 2.0.4 update.
  7. Here is my reuslts from playing around. I have figured out away to get to the "fireworks of lights". unfortunately it will only get you to this the setup still freezes. Step 1: set the DIP switched is 01100 You will see a green light and a solid faint blue light. Leave this for 5min. I read somewhere that it is a system reset. Step 2: complete the unbricking process as per ther videos. Step 3: leave the power off for at least a few hours, I have noticed this as now 3 times in a row i left it overnight then pluged it in then got the flashing LEDs. Step 4: boot with 11111 DIP settings. NOW every time this has gotten me to the do the initial set up i enter password accept T&C and continue it freezes. I have tried using the videos way of doing the update when i can access the pineapple from the 172.16 ect via a putty but it rejects me as there is no password set. I have tired just with root as username then no username heaps of ways even pineapples are yummy password. Settings of the PC were windows 8.1 over either with the Ivp4 set to obtain IP automatically. This is from observations over the last couple of nights. This afternoon i plugged it in got the good flashing LEDs. then thought i would turn it off then try again in 30min to see it maybe that first bit needs a restart...to which when i booted it, it went to the LED cycle of death. Then I gave it one more go approx 2-3 later which it gave me successful LED's, i hit up the instillation then froze. This is the BEST i have gotten to so far.
  8. Can you 100% clear it though the recovery mode?
  9. same. Unless we can some how format or remove all files from the internal memory. How im viewing this is maybe that 2.0.4 upgrade ( which has caused the problem for all of us, specially for the new pineapples) has left corrupt files and the recovery can't clear it. It is quite annoying that Hak5 support email hasn't email me back yet or even just an acknowledgement. The online community here is trying their best but we really need to start to get answers from Hak5 with maybe some replacements.
  10. does the pineapple have any internal memory (not including the SD card)?
  11. yep this is the same problem im having.
  12. Zarabyte, Yeah im getting the recovery bit right im getting to the factory flash web interface via 192.168.1.1 (with the static IP set 192.168.1.2), selecting the factory file and clicking flash (with the Dip switch 11110). when the pineapple is updating got all three lights on with the red flickering during the flash. but i do notice that at the 62% mark the red light stops flickering then does the flashing blue (while it still says updating on the web interface) then goes to a solid red with a flicker or two on the orange then back to flashing blue, This sequence can happen a few more times before the update is complete. I am using the wall power supply, supplied in the kit.
  13. Tried all those still no luck. I have emailed Shop@hak5.com. hopefully they can help me out as i have tried it all with no luck. done the unbricking, cant use the firware update method as it wont let me connect to it as its in a constant reboot, formatted the sd card (which is not a bad sd card at all) and added the new software to it and im doing all these to the T from what the videos are advising to do. Mega disappointed at the moment.
  14. G'day Zarabyte. I cant follow that video because the pineapple is constantly rebooting its self and doesn't allow me to connect to it, exact problem tat python2004 is having.
