  1. Hey anyone have a solution to where i can have a virtual drive or some sort to share in between all my virtual machines. I Would also Have to be able to access this drive with a different computer on the network. Here is a very crude visual representation of what i want Computer--> Connects to a Storage service of some kind --> Storage service is accessible to all virtual machines that are running on a Proxmox server. I've done this before on virtual box but it was a shared folder only between the host and guest operating system Seeing that this setup was different i was thinking of these options a) Running a Separate FTP servers on one of the Vms B) Running dropbox lan sync <--- Really unpractical c) Setting Up a NAS I have also read about proxmox's Storage model (http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage_Model) I think this is what i should be aiming for so if someone could explain there recommendation it would be greatly appreciated !
  2. For the the USB To TTL 6 pin Module (the first link) Don't i need an additional cable ?
  3. Im am currently looking to purchase this converter http://www.amazon.com/Module-cp2102-arm9-max232-max2332/dp/B003SLRUOM/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1313079032&sr=8-7 I have one simple question does anyone know the other cable i need to purchase that connects to the module mentioned above to unbrick my openmesh. Or would something like this be a better option http://www.amazon.com/USB-3-3V-Auto-sensing-adapter/dp/B004LC54ZY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1313079032&sr=8-3
  4. The main reason is waant to have machines to play around with backtrack and i want to keep back track and several virtual machines up to date because its no fun exploiting a really really outdated machine. Also it allows me to play around with analyzing captures and other stuff. I suppose i don't need it i just find it a big annoyance if i don't have internet to my vms. The reason why i want to isolate it is that i'm afraid that vms that are not up to date can easily be compromised and used as a pivot of some-kind and i dont want my home computers to be on the same network.
  5. Show of your favorite multi-tool.Doesn't matter if its a key-chain or a full sized military bomb diffuser. Tell us what you use it for. How you rate it. As-well as show some pictures. I just recently lost my own the Gerber splice black it was a great multi- tool mainly used for everyday tasks. . The tool it-self is very small and is not noticeable in your pocket. The best feature that Gerber has always come up with is the spring loaded scissors that surpass even the class Swiss army knife scissors. Here is a picture since i lost it i am just going to take one from the website.
  6. So any ideas how i can isolate my Proxmox server while the Vms still have access to the internet ? I am okay with multiple nics and by multiple i mean 2 but to have a nic per Vm is not a viable option for me.
  7. Yes that's whats happening right now i can still ping my main computer =(. I think the most likely answer though is that i am configuring it wrong.
  8. One of the techs i asked suggest that i follow this scheme. Modem--->Router-->Wrt300n (or any other DDWrt flashed router)---> Server The main objective is to achieve internet connection to the proxmox server but to also isolate it from my main network. The router is hooked up to all the computers on my network.
  9. How is the server going to receive a access to the internet ?
  10. The Wrt300n Is the spare router that i flash with DD-Wrt firmware
  11. My Modem has only one ethernet port i can't just plug it directly into my Wrt300n. My modem connects to my router which all the computers reside on that network. So it looks something like this. Modem-->Router-->Wrt300n The modem has only one port to plug into the router so unless i could get an adapter of some kid. Unless i am perceiving your instructions incorrectly i think that it would be possible! And Once again thanks for the help Infiltrator!
  12. Alright i just flashed an old Wrt300N with DD-Wrt and i connected it to my current router and right now it is connected to my laptop. I was running some ping tests and to my dismay i still can ping my main computer. Am i doing something wrong. I am thinking about this following tutorial http://www.hillbillyhomecompanion.com/dmzrouter.html I am still pretty lost as what to do next. I made no changes to the DD-Wrt router except for the password. Should i change the Operating mode of the router ? Any help would be appreciated !
  13. I think that it would be impractical to add a memory dumping tool to a project like this. A memory dumper dumps the entire contents of the installed memory on the system. So lets say you added this onto Pyblade your usb would then dump the entire system memory so if the system had 8gbs of ram around 8 gbs of data would be dumped into your usb. For a tool like Pyblade which is intended to be inserted into a computer and remove quickly it would add a lot of time depending on the amount of Ram installed on the computer. Not saying that this tool is bad i just think that it was more intended for incident response teams. As they can use dumpit on there usb without any concern for time for how long the data will copy as long as they get their memory dump. Maybe dumpit can be added on to the incident response switchblade. Although this could very well change with usb 3.0 becoming mainstream as we could dump the memory a lot faster. But for now i would recommend dumpit for more incident response tool/usb kits. That's my 2 cents anyway
