Buy Tetra now or wait for next model?

Hi!

I'm thinking about buying the Pineapple Tetra.

Do you think that a new model is around the corner so I should wait, or buy now?

I can very much recommend the Tetra, it's still going to be viable a few more years.

Good CPU. Enough RAM, and plenty of flash storage. :)

i guess the next gen. is going to get an upgrade on the cpu, ram and the wifi chips.

I'd be interested to see the performance comparison when having lots of clients, while intercepting/manipulating SSL-traffic if they tested a quad-core ARM CPU with at least 1GB RAM. :)

I also love my Tetra.

Not forgetting the mention of pineapple core by Darren, which would allow combining a Tetra or Nano with a BashBunny. Im guessing this could allow for handing processor intensive tasks off to the BashBunny along with some extra storage. Should also give the pineapple some extra life/longevity.

Plus what you learn on a Tetra will almost certainly be transferable to the next model if/as/when.

There won't be any new WiFi Pineapples this year, so you'll be fine to buy it now :)

Thanks for all of your replies!

I'll go for the tetra.

Instead of creating a new post, I'm going to quasi-jack this one. Sorry;not sorry.

What's the best way to find the version of the tetra and the nano?

Version? There is only one version of each. Firmware? Check the top of each section of the forum for the firmware version.

On your WiFi Pineapple, navigate to the Advanced module and you'll see it there.
