Glen
I have this IPad was on my wifi never used it but was going to use soon out of rang of wifi. I get $5 tab plan free data till you go over certain point then $15. well I put sim in see it works shut down IPad and it sleeps away just my $15 dolor plan to keep under radar. every month same amount shows browser and text data same amount each month I find it funny that my IPad would do so well in battery life while draining my money.I might add I never turned it on until I got my first very late bils 3 weeks but now that the cat is up bills are on time. 0phoi5
That's dodgy. I'd call them up and ask for an explanation as to why your switched off device is eating the same data each month. Sounds like you're being ripped off. Would be interesting to take the SIM out for a month and see if they still try and say you used data. Also, check your contract and make sure there isn't a minimum charge in the small print somewhere. Edited March 17, 2017 by haze1434
Glen
No I should only get a $5. charge unless I go over the first data bloc then goes to $15. I removed my sim was so pissed off with a bill for $68. for nothing my bill should be 3 months x $5. plus tax I never opened my IPad and I have my own direct ip line for wifi it's unlimited my IPad iis setup for this I asked Virgin how this could happen and they only could say I used it. I also got a late fee that hurts I'm a cheap guy I live on a farm my sim was for going into my woods with my new drone I was worried I could loose video but I have never even turned it on.Maybe they do this to everyone and make a fortune.I ask them to turn it off but I would like to do it again and prove they robe you blind and then take them to court. Glen
Thee strange thing is the amount is the same every month browser data goes up a little and text can go up and down but same amount on bill I can get copy of bills but they block me from seeing the data web says oops come back later . Glen
I would like proof could I install my sim get them to turn on again and turn off IPad maybe have some way to prove it's off whole time and see what Virgin sim is doing to get my money. Then I bet they would be in trouble Is there some programs that could record everything that the sim is doing and who is active in data while my IPad is off?I think this amounts to stealing. I hop someone can help me catch them I don't mined paying for things but I got nothing but rapped.I guess i'm the Virgin.

I would imagine there's some applications that you could install that monitor data in and out of the device, but it's whether your provider would take that as evidence. I doubt they would. Personally, I feel companies like this are not worth your time arguing with. Tell them to stick it somewhere dark and move on to someone else.
