Sorry about skylu being a bit of a dick. Most people here tend to be a bit more willing to help.

The problem with your question is that "getting into hacking" is a very broad thing. It's like saying "I want to become a surgeon", but that can be anything from a vet to a brain surgeon. So maybe you could elaborate a bit on what, specifically you want to do?

Something that might be able to get you started is this very lengthy thread in our security section. It's mostly about how hacking programs, coming to grips with the underlying technology and working out why things act the way they do, but there's a couple of outliers there. Just browse through that, see if there's anything that tickles your fancy and go from there.

One thing I will say is that questions, while very welcome, tend to get a better response when you show that you've already done some of the basic work in researching the subject (google, wikipedia...) yourself and your questions is about something somewhat specific.

A great free source for learning stuff is securitytube and cybrary.it  Cybrary actually offers some certificates (not that they are accepted anywhere though) for each of their classes you do.  I would recommend since you most likely already have everything you need I would start with learning how wifi works, how the security works and how to crack it.  Most likely your router has WEP, WPA and WPS so you can practice all three methods.  That is one of the easiest and what I consider starting points for understanding concepts.  Once you have that down move into computer systems with different types of OS, and softwares.

Hi new!

Here's the youtube play lists about some of the basics on linux, packet sniffing, ssh, netcat, and metasploit.

Metasploit Minute - https://goo.gl/3oUNU6

HakTip: WiFi 101 - https://goo.gl/7JSUtc

Hak5: SSH Inside and Out - https://goo.gl/4BZQ2c

HakTip: Linux Terminal - https://goo.gl/Ijto8q

HakTip: NMap - https://goo.gl/SbY6k9

HakTip: Netcat - https://goo.gl/InTRPa

HakTip: Wireshark - https://goo.gl/pgACde

Besides that, just play with what you have. Experimentation and knowing what things do is a grate way to learn how to brake it.

Code Academy is great but what I recommend is once you find a language you want to learn just grab a book off Amazon that is focused on it.  You'll be guided through the basics of the language and build some cool tools along the way.  Over time you'll be able to build things on your own because you'll have gained experience from those books.  A lot of them can be bought for fairly cheap but if cost is an issue there are some you can even find online for free in PDF format.  If you let us know what language you want to learn someone should be able to point you to the right resources.
