My friend I talk to on Skype got me reading a few of the books I recommend on the freecst site currently I'm reading the Red team field manual trying to get most of the commands and stuff memorized, another book I'm looking at from time to time is The Hackers Manual 2015 and Black Hat Python programming book.

Not to sound cliché, but I'm currently reading Neuromancer, William Gibson. Hadn't read it until now.

It's pretty damned good!

I love William Gibson! Did you try his more recent books? Eg Pattern Recognition? Very nice!

Oh boy, ahh...

  • Black Hat Python
  • The Linux Command Line
  • The Hobbyist's Guide to the RTL-SDR
  • Practical Signal Processing
  • Mein Kampf
  • The Quran
  • The Count of Monte Cristo

I have a bad habit of getting board and then start reading another book...

I've read black hat python, its a good book. I'd also recommend getting some python socket programming books to read along side it.

Hey, try this one if you can find it.  Really good.  Hacker nonfiction!!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cuckoo's_Egg

I've read a plethora of nonfiction. The Cuckoo's Egg was one of my favorites.

Hacker / Tech Nonfiction I've read:
Kingpin
Spam Nation
@War
Countdown to Zero Day
Ghost in the Wires
Art of Intrusion
Art of Deception
Where Wizards Stay Up Late
The Baby Harvest
The Cuckoo's Egg
Masters of Deception
Worm

Then in the fictional but educational realm there's these two:
Dissecting the Hack: The F0rb1dd3n Network
Dissecting the Hack: The V3rb0t3n Network

Fictional Hacker/Cyberpunk/etc I've read:
REAMDE
Snow Crash
Neuromancer
WIZZYWIG
Cryptonomicon

Hacker Nonfiction I wish to read:
Crack99

I'm also hoping to get into some of Cory Doctorow's work soon, it looks really good.
