there are alot of smart people on here.......just learned about rainbow tables..........anywhoo im not quite a noob but im modest enough to consider myself somewhat intermediate so to the point i have several computers in my house and i feel like they are just taking up space..........so i was wondering after watching DBZ if those computers could 'lend me their power' (Spirit Bomb) lol. Through research i found a botnet way of doing this but i was hoping that there was more ways. HELP!! i will take any method including the botnet method if you could explain it to an idiot such as myself.....Thanks in advance.

why reply when you don't have an answer??

To be fair, he did have an answer, although maybe you didn't see it in your "other" post here - https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/35147-distributed-computingcpu-pool/

Aside from the fact you could have searched the forums for similar topics to find an answer(I could be wrong but I think there are a few other threads on clustering but will let you do the searching), you already posted more than one topic with the same question now. This is generally frowned upon in typical forum etiquette, not just here, but on most forums across the internet. This causes more noise in search results for people trying to drill down to topics of interest. Posting the topic more than once is considered cross posting and thread bumping, just as it would be to reply to your own thread when not answered in order to make it show up as new again at the top of a forum section. You will find that some monitors may even lock a thread if deemed worthy because of this, and if it became a regular habit, give you a warning and then lock your account if it continued.

It's all good. Topics may take time to pick up replies, but usually they don't get replies is because people don't yet have an answer. You'll find, many people take the topics they don't know, go and try implementing them, then come back and post what they found. Not always that way, but it happens. If in a few months or so no one replies, give it a bump, but again, don't hit it like once a week or you'll find your thread locked.

If you google for the other reply rkiver gave you though, beowulf clusters may be what you are looking for, unless the software is OpenCL compliant, you could build a single machine with multiple graphics cards to do GPU computing for you if the software you are using can multi-thread on the GPU side, ie: oclhashcat tools for cracking passwords
