  1. Ok so i wanted to upgrade to firmware 1.3. That didnt work well. The bunny starts to flash the LED red->blue. as intended. Then the LED shuts off. No LED. I tried to boot it 3 times to trigger recovery. It then starts the flash red -> blue. After some time it comes a green LED and then it starts the red -> blue blinking again. After that a green LED and then it goes dark again. If i unplug it and plugs it back in, the green LED is solid for a sec and then ...wait for it...... DARK again. What a fun bunny, i might carry it out in the woods and leave it there :..( It also gets burning hot. I cannot accsess the files either. Maybe there is a way i dont know about? Its this BB dead now? 100 dollars out the window i guess
  2. UPGRADE TO THE LATEST FIRMWARE Download the latest version of the Bash Bunny firmware from https://bashbunny.com/downloads Verify that the SHA256 checksum of the downloaded firmware files matches the checksum listed at bashbunny.com Slide the Bash Bunny switch into Arming Mode (closest to the USB plug) and plug the Bash Bunny into your computer Copy the firmware upgrade file downloaded in step 1 to the root of the Bash Bunny flash drive. Safely eject the Bash Bunny flash drive (IMPORTANT) With the switch still in Arming Mode, plug the Bash Bunny back into your computer and wait 10 minutes. When the bunny is done flashing, it will pop up as an storage device. INSTALLING LANGUAGES i have opened a pull request on the official repo to add the languages to the /languages folder (.json provided/made by ducktoolkit.com) But for now you will have to manually add them (Atleast from what i understand since i cannot get the ducktoolkit install payload to work) Download the Ducktoolkit compressed file-> https://github.com/hak5/bashbunny-payloads/raw/53a9e7fb69677b0480b2005a590471f4feacd180/payloads/library/DuckyInstall/DuckToolkit-1.0.1.tar.gz Unzip all the .json language files from "\DuckToolkit-1.0.1\ducktoolkit\languages" inside the .tar.gz file to\languages on the BashBunny (Connected while in arming mode) Remove and re-attach the bash bunny, you can now use different keyboard languages INSTALLING "IMPACKET" AND OTHER DEPENDENCIES There are 2 tools folders on the bash bunny itself, one lives in /tools on the Linux file-system which you can see and access using SSH/ Serial access. The other one lives in the mounted drive which you see every-time you connected the bunny as an storage device. What we effectively are going to do is to download the latest impacket source from github, place it on the bash bunny flash-mounted tools folder. re-attach and re-boot the bunny , this will copy the folder into the linux file-system tools folder, where we will install the module. Clone or download -> https://github.com/CoreSecurity/impacket as an .zip file. Unzip the "impacket-master" folder inside the .zip file into the /tools folder while the bash bunny is connected as an storage device (in arm mode) Rename the "impacket-master" folder to "impacket" ( remove and re-attach /reboot the bash bunny on the system. If you go to the same /tools folder now, the "impacket" folder should be gone. Serial/SSH into the bunny so you get a shell. and execute the following commands, in this order "cd" | "cd .." | " cd /tools/impacket/" | "python setup.py install" ( "|" separate each command, dont type the " quotes) remove and re-attach the bash bunny, and you are all good ! :)
  3. I have an issue with the initial setup of my TETRA: The connection via USB ETH works fine and I also can start the setup. But on the second step, where I'm asked to select a new firmware file to upgrade, I can select whatever firmware file I want (or even none) and it always brings me to the next page, that tells me, that the upgrade file was verified successfully and I should wait for the setup to finish. However, after about 5 seconds I'm redirected back to the file-selection page with the URL "http://172.16.42.1:1471/?cache_breaker=1473066392". I already tried different browsers (IE, Firefox) and systems (Windows, Kali) but it's the same with all of them. Any idea, what I'm doing wrong? Or is there a way to skip the upgrade initially and do it later?
  4. I have seen speculation on top of speculation, as well as some confirmation from the makers. SOOOO, with that... 1. Are we getting the new firmware? 2. When might we see anything regarding this release? Please, no speculation in this thread and no re-quotes of various people saying things in different threads as I have seen it all.... Would love someone who ACTUALLY knows to respond and give your many customers that have your device some sort of update on the new firmware. Thank you A long time customer.
  5. What benefits would I see if I upgraded my server hardware? I took an old windows pc out of the office's recycle bin. The hardware was OLD! Dell Optix GX 260 Intel® Pentium® 4 Level 1 (L1) cache 8 KB 512 MB RAM ~100 GB PSATA HDD I installed Ubuntu Server 12.x (32bit) It's been workin great for 1 year+ I host a corporate wiki on it, a CRM software. I am adding a ticketing program. It runs so great, I don't mess with it too much. Does this old hardware that idles mostly 24/7 consume lots of power? Would switching to 64-bit hardware make more software available? The $600 server is a nice price. But I could spend that on desktop hardware upgrades. New SSD. Videocard. etc. Hak5 keep inspiring. The linux server build was one the biggest eye-openers I've ever had. The possibilities are endless.
  6. Hi there, I've just received my pineapple and am trying to do the first upgrade using the sd card provided. Having followed the instructions that came with the pineapple, all i get is a solid green light (after the amber and red for a couple of seconds before they go off). I've read the instructions in this thread here https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/32816-sd-card-doesnt-work-on-a-new-device/?hl=%2Bpineapple+%2Bwill+%2Bnot+%2Bupgrade but still no use, the green, amber and red lights come on when i plug the pineapple on, then the amber goes out (after approx 2 seconds) followed by red (after approx seconds), then i'm left with solid green. Is the pineapple knackered? I'll try another sd card but i can't see anything wrong with the one that came when its connected to my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  7. Hello, I am just wondering how long it takes to upgrade the firmware on the WIFI Pineapple Mark V? Currently my Upgrade over the Webinterface is loading since 30 minutes... Is this normal? :-) Thanks for helping. Cheers,
  8. Hey everyone, Thoughts on methods to preserving the downloaded modules prior to a firmware update? As most of us have done, the modules installed are to a usb drive attached to the Pineapple, however updating the firmware or resetting will of course remove the menu items installed. Has anyone found a way to alleviate this issue? So far I've thought of simply backing up the :1471 gui page and replacing the html/php file, but I feel that may be somewhat sloppy, especially with any upcoming firmware updates which may give a refreshed look to the gui itself. I personally do not enjoy re-downloading all of the modules, especially since they are already present on my thumb drive, simply to have them appear as installed and re-pinned to the menu bar, so any light or bright ideas are very welcome. Cheers and thanks everyone, great community.
  9. Hey Guys, Sorry to ask stupid questions again but I think I have a problem. I set the pineapple mark IV up to do it's upgrade from 2.4.1(How it was shipped to me) to version 2.7. I started with a power cycle, turned off all services. I checked the resources and had almost 7000 free, downloaded the file, selected it in the update box, pasted in the MD5 and clicked ok. The graphic came up with a bunch of fruit and told me that the pineapple is being upgrade and that it would restart and refresh the page. As per the instructions in the book I figured it would only take 10-15 min. After about 20 the page didn't refresh and I was tired so I said forget it and went to bed. This morning the page had not refreshed and the graphic was still going with the same message that the pineapple was being upgraded and that it would refresh. I clicked to the about section and the pineapple is still at 2.4.1. Any ideas are appreciated. Cheers.
  10. Hello, I have a Wifi Pineapple Mark II, running on a MR3201A-38NQ router (an OpenMesh Mini router). I wonder if it can be reflashed to Mark III? It has been confirmed in HakShop's Item FAQ page that it can be updated (Mk II > Mk III), (http://hakshop.myshopify.com/pages/item-faq , Q: "Can I flash my Wifi Pineapple II or III to the Mark IV firmware?"), and a link to the forum is provided. However, I couldn't find any post in the forum with a step-by-step explanation. So, maybe you guys could help me where can I find the instructions to do so, and which modules I can use? E.g., which modules from the Kamikaze repository (http://downloads.openwrt.org/kamikaze/8.09.2/atheros/packages/) or the other ones, like sslstrip, jasager etc. can be used? I'm a relative newbie on this topic, so any set of clear and understandable instructions would be appreciated, and I wouldn't like to brick my Wifi Pineapple. While searching for the solution to this issue, I found the following files on the web : https://code.google.com/p/awh/source/browse/#svn%2Ffirmware%2Fv3.0-091101 . How do you think, maybe I could use them to flash my router? Also, before flashing, I would like to back up my Mk II data and configuration. Can it be dumped to the disk on Windows XP with the use of Win SCP and with linux file attributes preserved?
  11. I really would be a nice feature to keep /www/pineapple/modules/moduleList after a firmware upgrade. So you don't have to "reinstall" all infusions again after a upgrade. Besides the modules are still installed on the usb, but moduleList is wiped when upgrading. Or create a checkbox system for the available infusions, so you can install multiple infusions at once ;)
