  1. I have a vacation home in Mexico. It has internet provided by a mexican company. Is there a way to bypass the geolocation, other than the commercial VPN services. The ones I've tried don't seem to work on all sites. Primarily I want to watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. Is there a way to simply log onto my "Home" network in the USA, as if I was still home? There will be no computer on the "Home" network while I'm gone, but there is a network hard drive. If someone can steer me toward the terminology of what I need, or youtube, or articles, i can research. thanks in advance.
  2. Good Afternoon, I am not sure this is the right forum for the question, but I imagine there could be interesting answers too. I would like to buy a router, and do not know exactly what I need. I would like to stream 1080p video @ 30 fps, over 802.11n, 75 meters from 20 separate locations simultaneously to a base station. The cameras will be used in sports and moving. The 75 yards is clear, with no obstructions from walls/buildings. My approach was going to be use Raspberry Pi Zero Ws to keep the cameras small but to allow them to also record to SD cards. Then, get a long range router they could all connect to, and then use some streaming application and maybe port forwarding on the router to make the streams available there. I could then connect a laptop to the router with ethernet. I estimated the router would need to handle 70-100 Mbps at the 75 yards, and have some weather resistance. I saw some routers that looked like they could do this, but the reviews varied allot, and I have never looked for one like this before. These are some I looked at... I would be interested if these will work, if one is best, or if you would use something completely differant. https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-BULLET-M2-HP-Outdoor-802-11-M2HP/dp/B002SYS22E/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 https://www.amazon.com/OM2P-HS-802-11gn-300mbps-Access-802-3af/dp/B00K5VLJ36/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1535081567&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=outdoor+access+point+router&refinements=p_72%3A1248879011&psc=1&smid=A1HP7F9AXH8VS3 https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-UAP-AC-M-US-Unifi-Access-Point/dp/B01N9FIELY/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1535081567&sr=1-4&keywords=outdoor+access+point+router&refinements=p_72%3A1248879011 Thanks for any and all suggestions.
  3. So i was connected to the internet via eth0 and was trying to use ettercap and arp poisoning and then my router stopped giving internet if have tried to perform <echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward> and also i have tried restarting my router multiple times and unfortunately there was no luck so how can i fix this problem
  4. Hi, ive been looking at the unifi security gateway. Looks a good bit of kit and seems to offer quite a bit for your money. I especially like the ability to segment my network, something which my current router doesn’t offer with its out the box firmware. have any of you had experience with this hardware? What are your views on this?
  5. So recently my home router keeps being port scanned from IP’s in China. Today I shields up to check my router and found ports 135,139 and 445 were responding that the ports exist. Can someone more than myself please advise?
  6. Hi, let me give you some introduction: I bought the nano months ago and pentested some of my old routers. Unfortunately I had to realize that the nano only can handle the 2.4 GHz frequency, but no problem, great product anyway. Most newer routers support both 2.4 to 5 GHz, so I decided to buy the tetra to continue pentesting with my network that has one brand new access point with both frequencies up at the same time. The start with the tetra was great, because with the "Recon" tab it's possible to scan both frequencies at the same time. Sorry I'm not a fan of the "Modules" so I always continue with an ssh connection and use the aircrack-ng tools. Here comes the question: Why can I scan my networks (2.4 and 5 GHz on same AP), but the injection does not work on the 5 GHz frequency? I know that the MAC Address changes in the last character, but I started to airodump my 5 GHz and fixed the channel (also tried different ones), but it is still not working. What am I doing wrong? Screenshots included. Scan results: http://i.imgur.com/2QV8OkJ.png Airodump: http://imgur.com/taEl4EY Aireplay: http://imgur.com/wRSW3ed Second test with another router (also dual frequencies): I'm wondering how I can capture my WPA2 handshake when I'm connected to the 2.4 GHz frequency and when I try to deauth my phone for example, it will reconnect to the 5 GHz frequency without giving the handshake. Same goes if I'm connected to the 5 GHz first and deauth it, the reconnect goes to the 2.4 GHz. I know that is normal behavior for modern devices, but can you please give me some advices how to handle this? Maybe a script with a loop of switching frequenies and deauth could work? Thank You!
  7. Hi all, I have myself a stack of various routers; an old BT Hub 2, Hub 6, an original TALKTALK router, some random router that looks like it's from the 90's (I forget the model), etc. People give me their old stuff to play with because they know I'm a massive nerd in my spare time Pentesting the router password hash is easy enough with Aircrack, however I can't find much information about how one goes about capturing the admin password hash of a router (or plain text, if it's old and crappy like the random router I suspect may be!) So a basic question; What tools / methods are used for capturing admin router passwords? I plan on having a play with each router over the weekend. I did an online search for information, but the search just yielded lots of rubbish news articles with no actual useful information. Thanks guys.
  8. Hi there, I have an annoying and frustrating situation with my router which led me to this forum, my isp has provided a router of their own (huawei hg8546m gpon ont ), but its locked by isp, the default router router access ip 192.168.100.1 does not work, i reset the router once in frustration, i was able to get into the admin page this time but my internet didn't worked, all the settings and configuration were wiped out. i wonder if there's any backdoor to router so that I could play all of its features without affecting my internet... thx.
  9. Hi sorry for may knowledge and english. may be a dumb question but, is there a way to get in to control panel of router without knowing password or somehow getting it without bruteforce. there is no one how knows password so sniffing or kaylogger wont work and i cant reset it. Router: TP-LINK WR940N or WR941N(i think)
  10. I don´t know if this qualifies as a "hacker question" but I just got a new apartment and i don´t have a router yet, is it possibe to conect my lan turtle with a cabe and then conect it to my Nano by the "Host port" at the back and then to my computer and share the network to my other computers? Thankful for answers :)
  11. Hello, I bought the pineapple nano and want to connect this pineapple directly to our wifi so it can send en email of the log every few hours. Is this possible or is it only possible to let the pineapple connect to the wifi with a laptop? Thanks in advance
  12. Hi Guys, Long time lurker but, finally, I actually have an issue and let's see what you experts have to say about it. I have a Nighthawk X6 R8000 router and someone else is allowed to use it. Access control is enabled and so are Dynamic QoS and WMM. Normally, the router lets me manually edit a device priority (low, medium, high, highest) and it lets me name devices as they are seen by the Netgear Genie as I please. However, on his new PC, I can no longer set a friendly name for it and, more troubling, I can't set the priority at all. Also, a drop-down list that allowed me to set the 'device type' is no longer working - mostly cosmetic, used to show pretty pictures of phones or computers... Does anyone understand what's going on here and what I can do to regain control of my router? It's a little complicated but the router is mine and I am the one who pays the Internet bill and I also happen to work from home most of the time so there are times when I need to lower the priority of other network users because our bandwidth is that too high. Any help is much appreciated. Again: Nighthawk X6 R8000 router, Netgear Genie software. Cheers, -ad
  13. What is the best method to access wireless networks that are several hundred meters away? My impression is that it's no good accessing the router from far away if that router does not have the technical ability to reply to you (since it's just a normal home router)? Is that correct? I ask because the "Tom's Hardware Forum" posters suggest that not only should you be able to connect to the router but that it should have the technical capability to respond to you (when you are hundreds of meters away). I have read about Yagi antennas but do they work when you are trying to connect to a conventional 802.11 home router? If, for example, there was an unencrypted network 500 meters away would it be possible to play with the network e.g. via SSLStrip assuming that one could connect to the network? Thanks!
  14. I purchased one of those portable routers by Netgear off of eBay. The TP-WR703N now has openwrt on it. I've never used openwrt other than my experience with the nano and it's a little overwhelming. What are some of my options utilizing the portable router to benefit the pineapple? Such as create a repeating access points to extend the PineAP? Or creating a compromised/controlled wlan by connecting an ethernet to the usb via a rj45 adapter to the pineapple? My mind's eye creates several possibilities but when I try to focus in on an idea everything gets fuzzy..
  15. hello reader, i am trying to follow the link here below to make a portable tor/vpn router-ish. so far i have been able to get to the 4th and 5ft step. for some reason (pretty sure it has to be the drivers because at 1 point you can download a file for drivers-ish) it wil not send anything receive anything, i am thinking it is because of the driver file. i have tried looking into the files but its not making sense to me since im a noob to it i am using 2 Alfa Network USB card AWUS036H. and i am using a rpi 3 is there anyone who can help me or can tell me what i am doing wrong? http://makezine.com/projects/browse-anonymously-with-a-diy-raspberry-pi-vpntor-router/ im sorry if i am not aloud to post links from competitive sites (because im not sure if this is one)
  16. Hi folks, Sagi1 here from Italy. In my holiday home I have an Alpha wireless usb adapter AWUS051NH , an HP computer running Kali Linux OS and a TP-Link wireless usb adapter TL-WN722N as WLAN for sharing the connection to my tablets that me and my parents use. With this tools connected to the computer I can reach a far away Wifi HotSpot from my home so I can have internet. The annoying part is that I must always run my computer so I can have internet on my tablets. So here my question: Is there a cheap, low wattage solution that I can use instead of my Kali Pc? I hope in your answers, sorry for my english. Greetings from Italy!! Sagi1
  17. i was wondering if these are possible serial headers. I'm trying to hopefully get a shell from this. and how would i communicate with these do i use any TTL adapter are does it have to be specific. also what it an easy way to identify the headers TX,RX,VCC,GND...? I'm a beginner so please give me some tips. Images: Device: NetComm NB6Plus4Wn I'm a beginner at this so please give me some tips too. :)
  18. Here's something I've been thinking about for a long time: you know when you go into a bar, ask for the wifi password and notice that the router has the default user and pass set? How easy if at all possible would it be to somehow sniff that traffic from somewhere else? Maybe it's even possible to automate things like capturing certain types of packages, cookies or even capture some credentials? Maybe I'm way off, I'm a complete rookie in this field. In that case I'd be very grateful if somebody explained why it can't be done! Thanks in advance!
  19. I am moving into an small house in farm land. 500ft away is where the fiber stops and I am wondering how I could get Wi-Fi to be transmitted to my house. Talked to the neighbors and they are fine if I have a modem in there house. how would I be able to transmit wifi to my house? is there a better way ? budget is no more than 300 or soo . Can it be done ? If so a parts list would help a lot! Can i be able maybe to use a old router or buy a new one not to sure yet. Please help...
  20. Hi all, I am working on a project that spoofs the geolocation of devices by faking MAC addresses from another place through wifi signals (somewhat similar to this). I have a Raspberry B+, connected to an Alfa AWUS036NH running in monitor mode, connected through ETHERNET with an MBP sharing Internet connection. I am currently able to use Aircrack + mdk3 to create multiple (encrypted) AP within a list of fake MAC addresses, using: sudo mdk3 wlan0mon b -v LIST.txt -g -t And this works perfectly. However I also want, at the same time, to use the same wireless adapter to create an AP (with a hand-assigned MAC address) that shares the internet connection the Raspberry shares via ethernet. Thus, both as a router, and as a "fake AP generator". Is this possible? If not, any ideas of what would be the best workaround? I am doing this for test purposes. The spoofing did not work well only faking unconnectable signals, but my theory is that by also creating an actual access point with a fake mac address, the setup will work better. Thanks in advance. LG.
  21. Hey guys, I work in IT support and enjoy tinkering with things like Kali Linux, Raspberry PI, ect... My wife recently started seeing some vulger ads on normal websites like CNN, Local News, and others. I started seeing similar things on my laptop very soon after. I did tthe normal checking for malware and things. I eventually checked the router settings nd found the DNS servers were set to static IPs instead of DHCP from he ISP. I chaged it back to auto, abd the vulger ads and things stoped. I checked the logs to see what happened but all the logs were deleted. After the reboot the logs were showing a DOS attack blocked. I think this was something like a man in the middle attack or something simlar. I'd like to know how they were able to get into my router and change the DNS servers and delete the logs. I've alredy did the basics post-attack steps like change passwords and things. Thanks guys!
  22. Hello Everyone first post for me and i have a problem with Wifi.what the problem is the in-gated community my aunt is in has a contract with AT&T but they screwed up and didn't run enough lines to all the homes and they said estimated time of repair is within the next 2 years on top of that the contract states no other company can come in and place there lines so she is stuck without internet. but she live on the back wall side and about a football field away there is a time warner hotspot. i can get an account to use that wifi hotspot but i need a device to reach that and connect to it.log into the hotspot and receive the internet and shell it out to multiple PC's or a router in the home threw its RJ45 jack. when i emailed Ubiquiti i was told the PowerBeam M2 and M5 can do just that. so i spent 100 bucks and bought the PowerBeam M2. i have it on top of the roof aimed at the hotspot about 650-700 fetish now the problem is when i connect to the hotspot it says im around 70-90 -dBm around 70 noise. it stays connected for about 4seconds then drops and reconnects right away.i called time warner and the tech says the login auth was working but was getting what is called "Challenge TimeOut" i have the PowerBeam M2 wireless set to " Station " mode with WPA2_AES auth and under the networking part i have had it in "Bridge" mode with DHCP enabled. I Attached 3 images of the PowerBeam M2 GUI settings "Main, Wireless and Networking Tabs ". any help would be great and thank you ahead of time p.s.s sorry ahead of time to grammer and spelling nazi's :-p
  23. I am wainting to know that since belkin took over making linksys routers if they are any good or are they lik all of the other belkin prouducts now. I am loking at geting a new router and am waiting to know if they are still a good name to look at. Also any recmonadtions on a good router to look at.
  24. I currently need information as how to spoof my DHCP Name I am already spoofing my MAC address but the name appears as my computer name and the admin (parents) reset it. If I continue with it I will have multiple duplicates of my computers name. Which will end in extreme suspicion. I only need to make the name be "Network Device" for we already have 3 of those and won't look suspicious at all. I am full admin of my computer I do have it password protected so no one but me will access it. I only need the spoof for random occurrences. Simply for the fact if I used it too often I would get caught. Thanks for any help.
  25. so hear is my problem i am tired of having to buy wireless routers every 2-3 years. I am think of building my own router but unsure on what i should get. Hear is what i am thinking getting a mini itx with 4 lan ports. hear is the reason for 4, one coming from the cable modem, one going to a switch for internal wired networking, one going to a wireless build maybe have not figured out if i should have one for router and one for wireless routing, and the last one connecting to a home server. i hope someone can shed some light on this for me. so i know if that is two much or if i should just get a dual and then run everything from a switch.
