  1. Greetings fellas - yes english is not my native language - apologies for that. I am experiencing huge icons in WiFi Pineapple management web - anyone knows how to fix that? Tried browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox Pineapple MK5.8, FW: 2.7.0. Thanks for an advice.
  2. Hi All, I am trying to set up WiFi Pineapple nano on my Kali machine. I am doing so using the guided interface option. However, every time the process seems to stop at "Step 3 of 3: Select WiFi Pineapple Interface Please connect the WiFi Pineapple to this computer...................................................." I have tried unplugging WiFi nano and connect it back but still getting the same result.
  3. Okay okay I know, hold on. Before you mark this question as a repeat question and yell at me to search the forums a little bit harder, hear me out. So I recently became the (very) proud owner of a Wi-Fi Pineapple Tetra. I'm fairly well-versed in terms of the Linux system layout, but there is one thing that confuses me... For those of you who are unaware, (and this is the part where I need guidance, as I may be wrong) a Wi-Fi Pineapple Tetra is equipped with 2 radios, each radio having 2 antennas to meet a total of 4 antennas. That fact alone was pretty difficult for me to find, because looking at it from the operating system, I was under the impression that there were 3 radios, which is what has been confusing. All the schematics and descriptions I've seen describe the Tetra as having 2 radios... but then, how can there be three wireless interfaces? An even better question, how can they operate independently (I.E. one be in monitor, one be in managed, and one be in master mode)? Here is my hypothesis: there are 2 radios, wlan0 and wlan1. Wlan0-1 is somehow a hybrid of the two, utilizing some weird feature that allows us to make a pseudo-interface that isn't actually linked to a specific piece of hardware, but instead shares the workload between the two radios... but that violates the fact stated in the statement above: they can all act independently of one another. Then, another article I read described wlan0 as the first radio and wlan0-1 as the second radio, but then, where did wlan1 come from? I thought it only had 2 radios? I understand that wlan0 is the open/hidden AP from the Networking module and that wlan0-1 is the managed AP, that much I gathered from /etc/config/wireless. So I guess my final question is simple: Can someone please please please please help me understand where these radios are on the actually hardware device?? I'm looking into building some upgraded antennas for parts of the Pineapple, and I'd like to know exactly how they will affect what. I do know that wlan0 is hooked up to the two antennas closest to the ethernet port, and that wlan1 is the two antennas closest to the reset button, but that still leaves the vital question: where is wlan0-1? Plus, I'm curious and confused. Those two aspects of me like to combine into either hours of research, or a forum post. I've tried hours of research with no results, and so here I am. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
  4. I love this little thing, I've had it for less than a week and I've learned a lot already. Sadly, my WLAN0 has gone missing from my WIFI Client dropdown menu under Networking. I can see that it exsists under the Advanced Menu, I can also change it's MAC address. I was using an AWUS036H, a tiny Edimax Dongle and/or the tiny dongle sold by Hakshop testing out range for about an hour. I turned it off via the GUI, came back to it a few hours later and I was wlan0-less. I wish I knew more about the UNIX commands but I don't at the moment. Somewhere in one of the logs, I believe I saw something that seemed the firmware for one of the dongles had replaced the wlan0 firmware. I'm not sure but I sure do miss it. I get paranoid when powerful little tools act funky. Could you glance over these logs and tell me if something nefarious is going on? I've reset it hard and soft, flashed the firmware and updated it all in different order several times. The logs change slightly from here to there but I can't tell what it all means exactly. Here are the logs from this morning (5am is) DMESG AFTER REFLASHING FIRMWARE: [ 0.000000] Linux version 3.18.23 (sebkinne@Worker) (gcc version 4.8.3 (OpenWrt/Linaro GCC 4.8-2014.04 r46591) ) #13 Thu Jan 21 13:34:28 PST 2016 [ 0.000000] MyLoader: sysp=8a14b024, boardp=44b65156, parts=b69f8d32 [ 0.000000] bootconsole [early0] enabled [ 0.000000] CPU0 revision is: 00019374 (MIPS 24Kc) [ 0.000000] SoC: Atheros AR9330 rev 1 [ 0.000000] Determined physical RAM map: [ 0.000000] memory: 04000000 @ 00000000 (usable) [ 0.000000] Initrd not found or empty - disabling initrd [ 0.000000] Zone ranges: [ 0.000000] Normal [mem 0x00000000-0x03ffffff] [ 0.000000] Movable zone start for each node [ 0.000000] Early memory node ranges [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0x00000000-0x03ffffff] [ 0.000000] Initmem setup node 0 [mem 0x00000000-0x03ffffff] [ 0.000000] On node 0 totalpages: 16384 [ 0.000000] free_area_init_node: node 0, pgdat 80355cf0, node_mem_map 81000000 [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 128 pages used for memmap [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 0 pages reserved [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 16384 pages, LIFO batch:3 [ 0.000000] Primary instruction cache 64kB, VIPT, 4-way, linesize 32 bytes. 5. Hello, i am a newbe to the wifi Pineapple and wanted to know is there a way to get a console on the web interface instead of SSH ing it ?
  6. Hello I have the most updated version of firmware 2.1.1 After a short time of the web interface working, it will freeze up and the webpage will become unresponsive. During this time, I can still SSH into the device however the web interface does not come back online. Manually unplugging the cable and plugging back resolves this for a short time, but is not ideal as I am not always right by my pineapple. It is relatively new, bought 2-3 weeks ago. Any ideas of what I should do?
  7. First major issue is connection, when or if the pineapple reboots for what ever reason it doesn't always see the AP i was connected to i know its there as my phone can see it, this isnt the fist time eithet it happen's more often than it should https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/33239-mk5-refusing-ap-connections-after-period-of-time/ The only fix for this i have found is a re-flash (pain every 3 weeks) My interface seems to have messed up a little tiles aint opening aand i have the same 4 open all the time, you can see from screen's when they are maximized (re-flash again) Not sure i am getting the no dog splash notification saying its started even though its set to off.(This is an ifusion issue, thanks daniboy92 ) My pineapple is fully updated, these issue's happen weather im using supplied power adaptor and/or batt pack. These are the same probelms time and time again now. More re-flash's whcih aint good if your not if you aint in the siuation to re-flash it i am wondering if there is a way of backing up the pineapple so it could be restored to a working state. Many thanks
  8. What happened the Github Repo @ https://github.com/WiFiPineapple/web-interface for the pineapple interface? i was about to fork it and make some optimizations to the code that i thought would help, but the repo is gone...
  9. How can I make "BT5r3 64bit" HOST (not VM) create a network interface for USB wi-fi adapter? "BT5r3 64bit GNOME" HOST won't create a network interface for USB wireless adapter, but "BT5r3 64bit GNOME" VM creates a network interface such as wlan0. Hello folks, I had installed "Backtrack 5 R3 64bit GNOME" in an External USB HDD. BT5r3 "automatically" recognizes the built-in wireless/wired card and show its network interface as wlan0/eth0 respectively. It also detects the USB wireless adapter via "lsusb" command, but it doesn't create a network interface such as wlan1. "lsusb" command shows: -------------- Atheros Communications, Inc. AR9271 802.11n The USB wireless adapter is supported by the preloaded drivers of BT5r3 because... When I install "BT5r3 64bit GNOME" in a VM, it "automatically" detects my USB wireless adapter, so it creates a network interface as "wlan0". I had tried different ways that I had found in the internet but it doesn't seem to work for me. Some of the things that I've done so far: - at first I install driver ath9k_htc, do lsmod, modprobe, reboot PC etc... - didn't work for me - install also ndiswrapper... - didn't work either - airmon-ng ONLY shows the built-in wifi, NOT the USB wi-fi adapter. The built-in wi-fi is named "wlan0" by the HOST: Interface Chipset Driver wlan0 Atheros ath9k - [phy0] - I already upgraded BT5r3... - didn't work - in the end I found out that THERE IS NO NEED for the USB wi-fi driver installation because "BT5r3 in VM" automatically detects USB wi-fi adapter and creates an interface as wlan0. - meaning to say that upon installation of BT5r3, BT5r3 has the driver for this type of hardware USB wi-fi adapter. - I modify the file in the HOST /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules - I used the same file in the VM that has the USB wireless info, then replace the HOST file - also try to renamed the HOST file built-in wi-fi "wlan0" to "wlan1", still no interface for USB wi-fi - let's say as wlan0 (I'm hoping that after rebooting, the HOST will create another interface for USB wireless adapter) - I also try to erase this HOST file then reboot PC, hoping that the new file that it will create has additional interface such as wlan1. How can I make my HOST "BT5r3 64bit GNOME" creates a network interface for my USB wirelesss adapter? Thanks. :)
  10. OK so I made a script that you can run on firmware 2.6.3 up to disable karma on wlan0 and setup and enable karma on wlan1/alfa NHA, it must be an nha or compatable atheros chipset! v1.1 karma-wlan1.sh #!/bin/sh killall -9 hostapd wlan0MAC=`ifconfig wlan0 | awk '/HWaddr/ {print $5}'` wlan1MAC=`ifconfig wlan1 | awk '/HWaddr/ {print $5}'` ifconfig wlan0 down ifconfig wlan1 down cp /var/run/hostapd-phy0.conf /var/run/hostapd-phy1.conf sed -i 's/interface=wlan.*/interface=wlan1/g' /var/run/hostapd-phy1.conf sed -i 's/bssid=00:c0:ca:.*/bssid='$wlan1MAC'/g' /var/run/hostapd-phy1.conf rm /tmp/karma.log hostapd -f /tmp/karma.log -B -dd /var/run/hostapd-phy1.conf sleep 5 hostapd_cli -p /var/run/hostapd-phy0 karma_enable [/CODE] chmod +x karma-wlan1.sh ./karma-wlan1.sh I have tested this and confirmed working, but if you have any input that would be cool:-) I was getting some stderr stuff in the ssh session so I piped it to /dev/null. those error msgs might be important?
