I found the iPhone app gps2ip and got it to send gps data to kismet on my laptop. nc -l -p 11123 | tee /dev/ttys0 When I have time I'm going try to run it on the nano. A pineapple nano and an iPhone4 would make a nice small wardriving/walking rig. If if there is any interest I can post my notes on the set up.

Hello, I'm a frequent wardriver (Walker actually, whenever possible.) and I like the new size of the Nano, so I was thinking about using it to do the job. I usually use the Wiggle app, but this drains my battery pretty quickly. The only thing I need to make this work is a GPS that works with any program I could use for this. (For example I've read a lot about using Kismet with a GPS) Are there any GPS units that both work with the pineapple, and are small enough to reasonably attach to the Nanos tactical case? Hi All, Working on a new infusion that assist with using the WiFiPineapple as a war driving device. The infusion and packages add GPS support to the already existing kismet package. As well as the ability to use an Android device as the GPS. Prebuilt packages and sources available here: http://magikh0e.ihtb.org/wifipineapple/. I have already started the basics of the infusion any ideas or comments would be appreciated! Below is some screenshots of what I have done so far. Hello Guy's last weekend i had the idea to try some war-cycling. and for that i grabbed my mk5 from the shelf and startet scurging the interwebs for information on how to connect a USB GPS dongle to the mk5. this was actualy real easey to do. and i installed the following for testing: Kismet_server and read some where that kismet could directly connect to my USB device. turns out that this is not the case for me. so i installde GPSD and after that kismet found a damn good GPS lock. i decided to run some more tests before i would go on my trip. and found that after starting and stopping Kismet & GPSD a few times the ttyUSB0 dissapears from my /dev folder. now my question is am i the only one having ttyUSB0 disapear on me or are there others on the forum with the same problem. and if so did any one find the reason why or solved it?

Greetings, Ever since the GPS infusion has been removed I'm not sure how to go about setting up GPS on my pineapple. I am still a noob and any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Mark

Has anyone tried using android phone gps in wifi pineapple. I am planning to use my phones gps in kismet. Any information about this would be great.

Hello guys, I was wondering if there is any infusion to be used along with GPS receiver. And i am planning to buy a GPS receiver to be used with kismet. So can anyone suggest a gps compatible with wifi pineapple and which includes its drivers

I updated to to the latest firmware (2.2.0) and factory reset my pineapple. When I went into the pineapple bar i noticed that the gps infusion is no longer there. I used that infusion. Anyone know where it went? Mark

This plugin allows you to log gps co-ordinates via the pineapple to the sd card. When I connect my Garmin GPS18 USB to Pineapple Mark V (firmware version 2.0.4) It shows up in dmesg: usb 1-1.2: USB disconnect, device number 4 usb 1-1.2: new full-speed USB device number 6 using ehci-platform however there is no corresponding new tty device listed in /dev. Only a new USB device under /dev/bus/usb/001/004 I have attempted to install GPSD on the sd card, but was unable to get it to enable at boot, so I removed it & installed in on the Mark V. I can start gpsd from the command line (with gpsd /dev/bus/usb/001/004), and telnet to localhost:2947 and get the following: telnet localhost 2947 {"class":"VERSION","release":"3.7","rev":"3.7","proto_major":3,"proto_minor":7} So I know GPSD is installed & runs, I know my GPS is seen by the system, however I cannot get the two to talk consistently as the USB device number changes between reboots (usually between 4& 5) Short of a factory reset and trying again, I am not sure where to go from here to get GPS working on the Mark V.

Can anyone suggest a single infusions solution or perhaps a set of infusions that would create a solution to what I thought would be a simple fix but alas, I'm missing something. I want to do the following on a pentest: - Warwalk my client's campus - full packet capture with radio spinning on channels 1-11 - ability to save the full packet, multiple channel, survey to a dump, or cap file for review in Wireshark **************************** I tried Wifi Survey - doesn't allow channel spinning and writing to a file like Kismet or airodump I tried tcpdump - it seems to work intermittently, but when I choose the monitor mode option it says it doesn't support monitor mode which seemed strange to me I tried Karma - hoping that maybe the same data would basically be in the log files but the radio doesn't spin on the various channels and do full packet capture resulting in a dump file unless I just missing something obvious ****************************** Basically, I need Kismet with GPS, full packet capture on channels 1-11 and save it to a dump/cap file. I'm hoping to set everything up, unplug, stick in my bag and warwalk.

Hey, I just got my first pineapple, a shiny new Mark 5. I have a USB GPS that I was hoping I could plug in and use with Kismet, but I can't seem to get it going. I am completely new to the world of pineapples and I've never used OpenWRT either, so I don't know how to go about finding kernel modules, or if its even possible (or if that is even what I need to do...). I tried searching opkg for kmod-usb-serial-pl2303, but I don't think the package exists in the repository. There was a similar situation ( https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/28782-usb-gps-pl2303/ ) with a person with a Mark IV, but as it is different firmware I didn't want to try the module attached. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks for your help.

Hey guy's so recently I was working on an APP that used GPS to locate the positions Latitude & Longitude of a device. Now that all fine and dandy when you're outdoors but as soon as you go indoors its a whole different ball game, because the device does not have clear line of sight to the satellites it cannot accurately (within a reasonable margin of error 1-2 meters) get the correct position of the device. So GPS was out the windows and I started looking at other solutions and figured where better to ask these questions than hak5. So far what i have learned is that in doors the position of a device can be accurately calculated using WiFi. Now I know to some of you boffins out there this will be nothing knew but this is new mind blowing territory for me and I am having a hard time wrapping my head around just how it works and was wondering if you guys could shed some noob friendly light on the whole subject of WiFi positioning and how it works. From what I have read and understood so far you take a number of WiFi routers position them throughout a building and by doing this you can accurately locate the position of the device in the building based on WiFi signal strength of the routers? < thats the bit i don't get / am getting mixed of with. Basically I need a cheap solution for wifi positioning. Also as a side note I think i may have accidently have stumbled accross why google street view cars collected all that wifi info they were not suppose to be collecting. Hello Hak5! :) I recently read an interesting article talking about how some pictures taken by smartphones can have GPS data, like the location where the picture was taken, in it's header. Someone developed a tool to display the data. Below is the URL regex.info/exif.cgi This got me thinking. Is there a way to get gps data from other mobile applications. Say for instance you are messaging someone on facebook via mobile phone. Would it be possible to tell where it is coming from?

Hey guys, I was wondering, is there a good way to use an android phone as a gps device for kismet in Kali? I can get Kali and the phone connected via bluetooth, but am having problems with rfcomm. Any ideas?

Maybe I'm missing something here: I have a Mark IV with the 3.7.6 kernel. I have a USB GPS puck (pl2303). To use this I need to install the kmod-usb-serial-pl2303 package off of opkg. On older versions (3.3.8) of the kernel this package installed fine but for some reason this package can only be installed on kernel version 3.7.7-1. Where is the right kernel build version of this driver for a Pineapple with kernel 3.7.6? Do I just need to build it myself? It just seems odd that the repository has packages that are not compatible with the current stable build. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks all!
