so, i enable wlan0, set the encryption to wpa2, put in my encrypted password, reset the wireless, remove my ethernet connection, adn try to connect wirelessly. it just keeps asking me for the encryption, like it's failing to connect and im very very sure its the right encryption. is it a dhcp issue? if so i tried to manually enter my ip (172.16.42.30), netmask (255.255.255.0), and gateway (172.16.42.1) with no avail. please help?

I am having wireless trouble at home. My Wifi randomly disconnects. Sometimes frequently and other times sparadicly but it happens on a daily basis. It has to be some sort of interference. I've gone through 4 routers and jumped around channels but the problem remains. Will the ubertooth one help me identify what is causing the interference and which channel i should change my wireless too. I have a 2.4ghz/5ghz router. I saw that the "Wi-Spy" will probably help identify my problem but I don't want to spend close to a grand in cash when I can spend just a little over $100 bucks at the hakshop for the ubertooth one. Any help/suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated.

Pineapple Connection-Disconnection Problems
Langleyo Xavier posted a topic in WiFi Pineapple Mark IV
Hi, May be a no-brainer to most but for the more nooby or less-RFI-aware among us: My pineapple mk4 was randomly connecting and disconnecting via eth0. It took a little tracking down but eventually I found out the cause was external electromagnetic interference from my other laptop. I replaced the stock spool-type cable with a shielded one and now its rock solid. Just be aware of this in areas with lots of cabling, radios or computers. These leads act like antennas for frequencies you dont necessarily want to recieve, reducing signal to noise ratio. Someone may want to come up with some homebrew retrofit shielding or screening hacks for the hardware mebbe?- 1 reply
