  1. Well I am pretty certain I won't be getting this one back from the dead without any clever ideas. It seemed to crash or fail during an upgrade to firmware 1.2 using the recovery method web server. Now I have no lights and the eth RJ45 end isn't recognized in Windows (network control panel) or any switch I plug it into. The only hope I have left is when I plug the cable into my computer I get a COM port (identified as the CP210x USB to UART Bridge) however Putty connects to a blank screen. Perhaps I will try against different baud rates to see if I can get something returned, I am not hopeful though. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated as I would love to get this back online.
  2. This is what i saw inside putty, when i am trying to perform an attack on either switch 1 or switch 2, the LED lights keeps blinking green light, also what ever version of update installer i use (i only tried mac and windows) i can't update it. This happens after kaspersky detects something inside the bash bunny and removed some files. Can anyone tell me how to reset it to the default way, cause i've already tried to unplug it a few times, after recovery mode, the problem is still here. Much thanks for any kind of help. (I am a newbie of this community, if i break any rules, please let me know and i will do my best to fix it, thanks) the photos are in the link below: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e4g6dfcv6tj9jgi/AAD2vWrMbDxeTxx20P5jIYYna?dl=0
  3. Hey guys, Followed the wiki to install the latest firmware manually, waited and after about ~15-20 minutes of waiting and seeing the LED was off, I touched it and it was blistering hot. I removed the bunny, and have proceeded to try every method or suggestion of recovery on this forum and under the sun. When I attempt recovery, it gets incredibly hot and after the red/blue flashed, it lights green for a second and then nothing. It isn't being detected by any of my machines, and I cant SSH into it or screen. I plug it in and it lights green for a second then goes off and will get hot if left in. Anyone experiencing the same or have any suggestions? I've already submitted a ticket, but I wanted to make one more attempt to find a fix.
  4. Hi, I bought the bashbunny when it just came out. Now when I try to use it, it won't start up at all. This is happening in arming mode as well as either switch. Physically, nothing appears to be wrong with the device, but plugging it into several computers, my phone and a wall adapter are all yielding the same results, nothing... does anyone have any ideas on this?
  5. Ok so i wanted to upgrade to firmware 1.3. That didnt work well. The bunny starts to flash the LED red->blue. as intended. Then the LED shuts off. No LED. I tried to boot it 3 times to trigger recovery. It then starts the flash red -> blue. After some time it comes a green LED and then it starts the red -> blue blinking again. After that a green LED and then it goes dark again. If i unplug it and plugs it back in, the green LED is solid for a sec and then ...wait for it...... DARK again. What a fun bunny, i might carry it out in the woods and leave it there :..( It also gets burning hot. I cannot accsess the files either. Maybe there is a way i dont know about? Its this BB dead now? 100 dollars out the window i guess
  6. Like the title says, I managed to log in one time, changed the timezone, now it's bricked. I've tried every method I can find to get it working. Multiple PC's, different cables, reboots galore, the oh so helpful "unbricking" instructions...you name it, I've tried it. Every method seems to assume you can actually connect to the darn thing, which of course, I can't! I get "Network cable unplugged" since it crashed, nothing works. If you have some secret method of getting this thing to work, and keeping it working, I would love to know before I RMA it. If you need more information, I will be happy to supply it.
  7. I see a lot of posts saying that their device is bricked, but I never see anyone say how it looks when it's bricked. Can someone tell me how a device appears when the device is "bricked"? Thanks guys once again! :)
  8. Hi everyone at Hack5 and pineapple users. I'm a novice and first time user of a pineapple V and am hoping for some help with a technical problem. Firstly a bought the pineapple via ebay UK as a "new" device (It was around the same price without import costs as buying from Hack5 in the US but also quicker shipped...that was my first mistake) Pineapple arrived with the sd card inserted and clearly had been fired up before so I am unsure of its history. It boots after some initial flashes to SOLID RED AND GREEN LIGHT. It is also not accessible from the web interface at all so can't reset via there. I initially thought it may nave been a bad sd card which I have read of on the forum so tried another card and flashed the latest update to it from the downloads page at Hack5. Still nothing and still no boot past red and green lights. I read that the red light means that the firmware has a corrupted md5sum but the problem I have is that I can't communicate with the pineapple at all to try a firmware flash I have tried to SCP the pineapple with Ethernet bia the static ip 192.168.1.2 etc but it doesn't seem to work ...although I may well not be doing this correctly as I am definitely a novice user -could anyone help or talk me through how to do this? Might I nead a serial UART to get directly to the board and flash it that way(???) I have tried to reset the pineapple with the dip switches (dip 2 + 3 in the down position) to reset system defaults but still nothing but solid red and green light boot. Could anyone please help me with what I need to do with it -I'm afraid my technically knowledge is low but am willing to learn and know how to fix the issues ...if I buy a fresh pineapple I simply don't want this to happen again and it still be beyond my capabilities to fix :/ Thanks to the forum Please comment if you can help. Cheers. Archimac
  9. I just received my pineapple and to my disappoint I have had problems right out of the box. When I received the pineapple I followed the instructions exactly as told, I inserted the sd card and waited what was suppose to be 5 minutes turned into 25min. After 25min. the pineapple was stuck with a Green, blue, and red led for about an hour. So I unplugged it and tried again and now it has been stuck on the blue led for a half hour. Any ideas on what I should do? But fireware flash or corrupted image on sd card perhaps?
  10. hey guys i've used my wifi pineapple mkV for the better part of 3 months now. I've had no major problems with it. yesterday i tried to update over the air to 1.1 . it downloaded the file correctly, md5 checksum was in order, so it began updating. my browser kept showing the "updating" screen. after 10 min or so i lost the wifi link to the pineapple. i thought this was normal, so i waited some more. after three hours the wifi still hadent come back up. i powercycled the thing and still no wifi. i connected over ethernet, doesent even seem to have a dhcp-server running (at least i got no ip assigned). i then manually configured my ip to 172.16.42.254 and scanned the network. needless to say there was no response on 172.16.42.1:1471. i tnen tryed to reset the device with the dipswitch code u-d-d-u-u. still no dice. everytime i turn the device on all the leds flash for 1/2 second, then only the green & red one stay lit. any suggestions?
  11. All, Got a MKV and had it running 1.0.4 - working fine for months, including most of today. Today after finishing some work on dnsspoof and /www/index.php, I turned her off and later back on. Now I get a solid green light, and a very faint red light and that's it. No ethernet link recognised so I don't have a workable LAN connection. Tried setting dips to U,D,D,U,U and U,U,U,U,D left to right per reflashing/recovery instructions to no avail. Tried multiple LAN cables, and both the USB and primary power supplies that came with the unit. There's definitely no LAN link. Any help appreciated! Thanks, _sw1tch_
  12. Hey guys I looked at a video on the official Wifi Pineapple website in search of the pin-out for UART. As shown on that page VCC is connected and no where on the page is it stated not to connect it. Unfortunately I hesitantly connected VCC and now have a fried Pineapple that doesn't boot at all. No LED's light either. So I've come here in doubtful hope of possibly reviving my beloved Pineapple or is it for the bin? Thanks a lot,
  13. I was going through the first steps of setting up my pineapple. After plugging in the power, about 30 seconds in the power cable fell out the wall.... Damn old outlets! I have followed the steps on unbricking the MKV but can not connect to it. I get a solid green, amber, blue, and a blinking red. The page just times out. I tried the resting using 10011 then setting it back to 11110 but still can not connect. Powering off and on between each dip change. Any help would be much appreciated!
  14. Hi, I received two Mark V's a couple of weeks ago. I've updated the firmware on both but one of the devices when powered on displays solid red, green and blue lights immediately without going through any startup sequence. I've tried the steps for unbricking, including the latest firmware but nothing works, there is no activity, just straight to the three sold lights. Does anyone have any advice, the other device is working without issue. I suspect this could be a hardware failure. thanks in advance.
  15. Hi guys, any help here will be appreciated. I just got my new Mk V today, put in the SD card and booted up, it seemed ok and eventually all lights lit up and i could get to the browser page via the wifi. I created new password, and then it showed as reloading after first set up. Since now, I cannot connect to it. Ive tried changing the dip switches to try and reset it but it no longer shows the SSID when i search. When i connect it doesnt get an IP address by ethernet. Ive tried the recovery here: https://wifipineapple.com/?flashing But it just sees the ethernet connection as down. Any suggestions ? Thanks
  16. I seem to have bricked the unbrickable? I got my Pineapple a little while ago and it was working just fine for the first little bit. Then after unplugging it one night the next day it wouldn't boot back up. All I am getting for lights on it is a solid green light none of the other lights turn on. I have tried using the dip switches to either reset the system defaults of to get into the recovery web interface. But once again all I get is the solid green light on the Pineapple. I have also tried powering the Pineapple with the pineapple juice battery that I just received to see if the issue was with the power supply but that does not seem to be the issue. What are my options now? Is there any other possible things I could try?
  17. 18. Today while preparing for a presentation I'd doing about the Pineapple for B-Sides SF, I decided to upgrade to latest dev version Version: 2.7.7 Since then my pineapple is not working. I have been playing around for awhile with no luck. Here is what I did and what little debugging data I have been able to gather I tried thru the web interface and it said the md5 didnt match, so I just scp'd the file to /tmp and executed sysupgrade root@Pineapple:~# sysupgrade -n -v /tmp/upgrade.bin Sending TERM to remaining processes ... netifd udhcpc atd crond uhttpd uhttpd dnsmasq ntpd syslogd klogd hotplug2 ubusd Sending KILL to remaining processes ... uhttpd uhttpd ntpd Switching to ramdisk... Performing system upgrade... Unlocking firmware ... Writing from <stdin> to firmware ... Upgrade completed Rebooting system... Since then it wont work. When I power it, Without ethernet: PWR goes on, the LAN blinks, WAN blinks, then LAN stays half-lit Eth into PoE LAN: PWR goes on, the LAN blinks, WAN blinks, then LAN blinks a few times, then goes to half-lit Eth into WAN/LAN: PWR goes on, the LAN blinks, WAN blinks a few times, then LAN goes to half-lit WiFi never comes on. And it never replies to any pings. It seems dead. The next step I am planning is to run to Fry's and pickup something like this http://store.jpgottech.com/shop/usb-uart-console-adapter-v2/ This would allow me to crack it open and try the Clean Flash (Serial) instructions. I hope. I need to get this fixed for my talk on Monday or get a new device by Monday morning. HELP!

  20. Hi everybody, I found too much thread as : "My pineapple is bricked !" "I'm stuck on the redirect loop" "New FW not working" .... Please read a bit more changelogs before upgrade .... So we can focus on real problems ! (I think Seb is going to have a stack overflow if people don't stop this and still don't read docs...) Thanks to all the community ! Cheers
