  1. Hey all has there been any updates for the Mark5 I currently have the 3.0 beta installed, but for some reason doesn't seem to be working fully anymore. has there been anything new up or can I add firmware from the nano to it ?
  2. 'Ello I recently upgraded to the latest Firmware 2.4.0 and the upgrade reset my MK5 to factory defaults. I have the eth0 connected to cable, standard config : IP 172.16.42.1/24 DefGw 172.16.42.42 DNS 8.8.8.8 Wlan1 is connected to an isolated wlan on my router with internetaccess in client mode. Since the upgrade the DHCP server from the Mk5 is overruling the dhcp server of my router. Here is my problem : Since the upgrade the DHCP server from the Mk5 is overruling the dhcp server of my router. Normal (authorised) clients on my own wlan are getting DHCP adresses from the MK5 (172.16.42/24 defgw 172.16.42.42) while NOT connected to the isolated network. is there a way to prevent ETH0 to pass on the DHCP requests and isolate the DHCP answers to the wlan requests only ?? In other words; remove the binding of DHCP on the eth0 ? note : I have not seen this behaviour prior to the upgrade. kind regards ./Dice
  3. With cloud.wifipineapple.com down, is there another place where I can find the MK5 source code?
  4. I have an extra mostly unused WiFi Pineapple MK5, and I'm wanting the SDR Mobile kit. Anyone interested? I still have the original box, booklet, wall adapter with all of the different ones for different countries, the MK5 itself, 2Gb SD, and the two antennas. It's updated to the latest firmware, and I'll be restoring it to factory settings and wiping the SD before sending it. I could take pictures if you'd like to see it. Basically everything you would have in the original package except the stickers. I'm located in the US, and if you're a trusted member I'd gladly send you the Pineapple so you can look at it before sending the SDR. I'd prefer the Mobile version of the SDR, but I may settle for the Starter, since I'm an absolute begginer with it in the first place. (Never messed with radio before.) Sold. I'm not sure if I can remove my own threads on this forum or change the title.
  5. How does one get an RMA number for a defective MK5?
  6. hello to the one who is/are reading this, i am looking for a power solution on the wifi pineapple mk5. i have read on this page http://hakshop.myshopify.com/collections/wifi-pineapple-kits/products/wifi-pineapple?variant=81044992 that the mk5 uses between 5-12 volts. since im a newbie when it comes to electricity how many watts would be the minimum (to get the 5 or 12 volts) to get the wifi pineapple mk 5 to work properly?! i have found 2 that i am interested in but need feed back if it is smart to do so or not http://www.amazon.com/ReStore-Portable-Folding-Charger-Carrying/dp/B00FABKX7E/ref=sr_1_77?ie=UTF8&qid=1434471712&sr=8-77&keywords=portable+solar+charger and http://www.amazon.com/Poweradd-Charger-Portable-Foldable-USB-Charged/dp/B00M16DXKK/ref=sr_1_80?ie=UTF8&qid=1434471712&sr=8-80&keywords=portable+solar+charger or if some has a different suggestion for solar power please let me know many thanks in advance
  7. I'm not really familiar with how the different WiFi technologies work. (a,b,n,g.c...) Would it be possible to get the pineapple to work with 5Gh networks? I realize you probably can't just switch out antennas or something, but I think it's worth asking. If there is nothing I can do to the existing equipment, if I were to attach a card via USB that supports it, would it work? If so, would the infusions work with it, or just stuff through SSH? Thanks
  8. Like the title says, I managed to log in one time, changed the timezone, now it's bricked. I've tried every method I can find to get it working. Multiple PC's, different cables, reboots galore, the oh so helpful "unbricking" instructions...you name it, I've tried it. Every method seems to assume you can actually connect to the darn thing, which of course, I can't! I get "Network cable unplugged" since it crashed, nothing works. If you have some secret method of getting this thing to work, and keeping it working, I would love to know before I RMA it. If you need more information, I will be happy to supply it.
  9. Hi everyone :), I recently bought a WiFi Pineapple MK5 and I test all its functions. So I tried to make Wardrinving with DIPS. I have, in my setup "DIP Switch Configuration", the following commands: ifconfig wlan1 down; iwconfig wlan1 monitor mode; ifconfig wlan1 up; kismet_server For DIP 2: 0, DIP 3: 0 and DIP 4: 0. I turn off my WiFi Pineapple, I put switches on 0 0 0 and I turn it on. I wait several minutes (20 min) and I unplug. I turn and I log into SSH, I go to the file that I configured (/sd/.kimet) and there from time to time, kismet did not record the documents. I think this is because I turn it off when my wlan1 interface work (red led is blinking), and this topic : https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/28543-power-onoff-wifi-pineapple-mark-iv/ Here, it is recommend to wait until the light stops blinking flash, which makes sense, but I can not find a way to stop the command "kismet_server" using DIP. Can anyone give me some advice? :)
  10. Hey guys! The WiFi Pineapple Mark 5 API Docs are now here.
  11. im trying to mess with SMSer but when I install it i get the message "You have unmet dependencies! A USB flash drive is needed!" Is there any special way I need to install an USB drive?
  12. I use the OOKLA Speed Test, but I just found another app for my Kindle Fire that looks to be helpful, pre-deployment. It also shows you what Karma and to some extent (I think) PineAP are doing. It's called WiFi Overview 360 Pro. Cost me 3 bucks USD from Amazon. First, it can give you info on which channels are more open, prior to deployment.
  13. I have two MKV Pineapples and the new Pineapple Plug that I'd like to configure to work together. I set the second Wifi Pineapple's IP to 172.16.42.2 (in /etc/config/network) while keeping the first Wifi Pineapple's default, at 42.1. I then connected both Pineapples to the Wifi Pineapple Plug and booted them up. At this point I'm not sure what to do, nor do I know for sure if the Plug setup is working properly. I'm guessing it will be much easier to run two Pineapples together in future firmware updates but if anyone has experience working with two Pineapples I'd love a push in the right direction, or where to find relevant instructions/resources. Thanks!
  14. I have 2 additional wireless adaptors connected to my MK5 and I need to connect wlan3 to a WPA/WPA2 wireless network. What command do I run to connect to a WPA/WPA2 wireless network? Interface Chipset Driver wlan0 Atheros ath9k - [phy0] wlan1 RTL8187 rtl8187 - [phy1] wlan2 RTL8187 rtl8187 - [phy2] wlan3 Atheros ath9k - [phy3]
  15. First things first - I have already gone through a bunch of posts on this forum but none of them have been helpful to solve the specific problem that I am having so any help here is greatly appreciated. My setup is something like this: MK5 Kali Linux installed on Virtual Box sitting on Mac OSX 10.9.4 The network settings of the Kali Linux Virtualbox is set to "NAT". So, when I type in ifconfig inside Kali, I see just 2 interfaces: eth0 with an IP address of 10.0.2.15 lo with an IP address of 127.0.0.1 On my macbook, I have a bunch of interfaces. The important ones are listed below: en0 with an IP address of 172.16.42.210 - This is the ethernet interface connected to the MK5. en1 with an IP address of 192.168.1.3 - This is the wifi interface connected to my router Straight out of the box, I was able to successfully connect to MK5 via ethernet and fire it up. No problems there. I could reach to it from the macbook as well as Kali. After starting it up, I noticed there was no internet access on the MK5. So, I read some posts and figured that MK5 has 2 wlans now. So, I enabled Wlan1 from the portal, navigated to Client Mode. Scanned for my router's SSID and connected to it. I now had internet access on my MK5 so I upgraded the firmware, installed infusions, etc. I also had internet access on any other device connected to my MK5 via MK5's broadcasted SSID at Wlan0. So, everything till now looks good. I have my MK5 setup and running with internet access. I can connect any device to MK5 and have internet access to it. I can access Mk5's portal from both my Macbook and Kali. I can also run infusions like tcpdump, sslstrip, etc. on the Mk5 itself. So, on one hand I have my Macbook and Kali connected to the router and on the other hand, I have my MK5 connected to the router as well. And, I am able to access Mk5 from my Macbook/Kali via the ethernet port. However, the above setup is not something I want because all traffic sent to MK5 is automatically sent to the internet via the router because Wlan1 is enabled on Mk5. What I want is: Wlan1 be disabled so that only Wlan0 is open on the Mk5 broadcsting its SSID. All the traffic sent to the MK5 should be routed via Kali on my Macbook and then onwards to the router so that I can run tools on Kali and capture the traffic. I understand this means I will be sharing my internet from the wifi port of my macbook onto the ethernet port for the Mk5 to connect. But, I have read that the ICS on macbook should not be enabled because it changes the IP address? So, how do I get this working when the Wlan1 is disabled on the Mk5 and ICS is turned off on Macbook? Also, since i really want to be doing all this on the Kali VM rather than the Macbook, I downloaded the wp5.sh script from wifipineapple.com and ran it on the Kali VM. Pineapple Netmask: 255.255.255.0 Pineapple Network: 172.16.42.0/24 Interface between PC and Pineapple: eth0 ----> not sure what this should be since I'm on the Kali VM? Interface between PC and Internet: wlan0 ----> I only see eth0 and l0 listed on Kali so what value should I enter here? en1 of macbook? Internet Gateway: 10.0.2.2 IP Address of Host PC: 172.16.42.210 IP Address of Pineapple: 172.16.42.1 I am not sure the above values are correct or if the scenario I describe here is even possible? Can somebody please assist? Thanks
  16. So far I'm loving my mk5 and a big thanks to the team for developing such a great product! What I have not really figured out or seen on the forum is what people are or will use their dip switches for. So I thought we should have a thread with configurations and ideas! as a side note well I'm trying to figure out what cool things I could do with them, I have not been able to figure out when in the boot process commands in the dip switch config get issued...
  17. Figured i would start this as i know the HAK5 team is busy
  18. Hi everyone, At the risk of sounding really stupid, Ive bought an ALFA USB WiFi AWUS036NEH to use with my MK5 Wifi Pineapple, so that i can use the MK5 as a access point while connected to the internet using wifi and finally use the remaining antenna with PineAP, karma and harvester. However, I've connected the alfa using the usb and i expected to see wlan0, wlan1 and now wlan2, but i don't see any change. What do i need to do to get this to work, any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance
  19. I need some help! My MK5 was working fine and i was able to access the Web Interface over wifi, however since upgrading to firmware 2.0.2 accessing the web interface over wifi has been a bit on and off. Now i have upgraded to 2.0.3 access over wifi is impossible. To access the web interface i have to connect my pineapple to my computer using ethernet. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just a problem on my end. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, starting to lose my hair! Thanks
  20. Hi Guys, I have read all of the relevant topics regarding Karma and I understand that some of the new OSes(mainly Android and IOS) no longer work, however I have not been able to connect any clients with the mk5 karma function. I have used 2.8.1 and mk4 previously and the situation was better than now and I bought the new hardware thinking that at least same level of performance is expected. I had karma turned on for several hours but no clients were succesfully connected, even when the karma log showed them as associated they never were reachable via ping/network. The only way anybody oculd connect to the PA was by directly connecting to the Karma SSID. Attached are the logs from pinneapple with my notes/explanations
  21. hey guys i've used my wifi pineapple mkV for the better part of 3 months now. I've had no major problems with it. yesterday i tried to update over the air to 1.1 . it downloaded the file correctly, md5 checksum was in order, so it began updating. my browser kept showing the "updating" screen. after 10 min or so i lost the wifi link to the pineapple. i thought this was normal, so i waited some more. after three hours the wifi still hadent come back up. i powercycled the thing and still no wifi. i connected over ethernet, doesent even seem to have a dhcp-server running (at least i got no ip assigned). i then manually configured my ip to 172.16.42.254 and scanned the network. needless to say there was no response on 172.16.42.1:1471. i tnen tryed to reset the device with the dipswitch code u-d-d-u-u. still no dice. everytime i turn the device on all the leds flash for 1/2 second, then only the green & red one stay lit. any suggestions?
  22. Description: This a a very simple and minimalistic infusion that allows for a script-managed wireless connection for connection sharing. Although I did like the feature set of WifiManager, I personally prefer a more minimalist and script-based approach. This infusion provides network status information as well as an interface to manage the script. This is the same infusion as the MK4 just modified slightly for directory structure sake and re-tested. Note: When adjusting the variables in the wireless script, maintain the quotation formatting! This is required for the script to function correctly. Feature Set: Script Editor: A basic text editor that allows for editing of the script on the fly. Status Monitor: Outputs important information on your network connection to the small and large tiles. Including: iwconfig, ifconfig, and ping. Example Output: 802.11bg ESSID:"MyGuest" wlan1 2.437 GHz Access Point: AE:22:0A:32:34:F9 Quality=70/70 Signal level=-4 dBm Link 192.168.2.64 192.168.2.255 255.255.255.0 PING google.com (74.125.239.41): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 74.125.239.41: 17.938 Auto Refresh Enable/Disable and Logging in Small Tile AutoStart Credit: Infusion GUI: Whistle Master Wireless Script: ISC Enjoy!
