  5. Hey all, I got the 9 dBi pole antenna from the hak shop and my question is whether i need to do anything other than substitute the new antenna on a device. Specifically do i need to set power options to optimize signal etc? The reason I ask is that i dont notice a significant increase in the area that I can observe traffic say with an external wireless card in monitor mode or something. Thanks, -SM
  6. I actually sent in the pineapple to get it replaced. I just wanted to make sure there was nothing going on with that one unit that would be sending us all on a goose chase. I'll post the dmesg of the new fruit when I get it. Thanks a ton for all your help. -SM

  8. @ sygo Sorry for the delay. went on break and didnt bring my box. Partitioning successful. Pineapple memory expansion not so much. Pretty much the same situation. Doesnt show up with df -h or free cmd. Not sure if i was still supposed to run the mkswap cmd from the pineapple after already doing it in fdisk but after nothing showed up from df -h i ran the mkswap /dev/sda2 and got the same error message. AHHHHHHHH this is driving me crazy. Do you think its possibly a faulty pineapple or is it more likely that im just screwing sumething up. I just want more space. Is there any other info i can provide to help rectify the situation? Thanks for your patience.
  9. Ok road bump but I think this is on the right track. Heres where im hitting a snag i get into fdisk. it shows 2 partitions sdb1 and sdb2 delete one and two just fine. Command: n select 'p' with value 1 heres where im diverging. instead of First cylinder (1-1322, default 1): Which is what you have. Im showing First sector (2048-7821311, default 2048): Im assuming this is where the partition is supposed to start or something? is this a problem? I tried running through just ignoring this difference and I got an error when trying to create the EXT4 file sys. it said mkfs.ext4: inode_size (128) * inodes_counts (0) too big for a filesystem with 0 blocks, specify higher inode_ratio (-i) or lower inode count (-N) This is kinda confusing for me so if im not being clear or providing enough info let me know and ill try to give you a better view of whats going on. I really appreciate all your help. That tutorial is freaking awesome. I think if we get this kink worked out this could work. let me know, -SM
