  6. Thats exactly what I did... although I did have to alter the first line in putty after I had pasted in, the quotation marks changed to full stops once pasted, so i deleted the full stops and changed it back to quotation marks. If i didnt, the console would drop into, "HUSH>" Just glad I got it figured out in the end lol
  7. Mr Protocol, you my friend deserve a beer. It was the settings for serial connections in putty, i did change it to 115200 but didnt change the flow control - thought it would take the windows settings! Also had to manually type it in as it kept giving kernal panic errors when pasting! Thanks for your help everyone!

  11. I think im gonna try manually typing it now. Btw, the qoutation marks change to full stops when pasting - when i change them back, it drops into "HUSH>" and the only way to exit is to interupt with ctrl c. should it be quotation or full stops?
  12. Mmmm, i have a feeling mine might have had openwrt already on it (i remember specifying it) :/ :(
  13. Also, some more info just in case it proves useful - im flashing the unit that comes as just the board. I did purchase an ap121u aswell at the same time but they are identical boards! so both should flash, right?
  14. copied the text to a notepad file and made sure there were no carriage returns as there were previously. I get the kernel panic after I run bootm 0x9f650000 VFS: Cannot open root device "(null)" or unknown-block(0,0) Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions: Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)
  15. Yh thought as much... Kernel Panic - Bad memories of setting up my hackintosh lol I'll give it another crack and failing that I'll wait for your vid :) Cheers!
  16. Quick question, after I issue the reset command - do I remain in the putty console? 18. Checked the pin outs also, from what I can see, i dont need to break the pins on the default connecter. :(
  19. That is what I meant by Alfa Console Board... I have that attached to a KeySpan USB to Serial converter and that to my laptop... is that correct?
  20. Been messing around with the keyspan and made sure everything was connected correctly and reset all com port settings to default and now when i power the board up, i get nothing in the putty console
  21. Thanks to Mr Protocol for posting this in my thread - I did try to find it but couldnt. My issue is this, I have a Alfa Console Board connected to a keyspan USB to Serial converter and all I get is junk in putty. Am I doing something wrong? I've read this thread a number of times and from what I can see its all correct :/ Thanks in advance
