  1. After a [manual] FroYo update, I noticed that when I plug my phone into my computer, it functions as both a USB mass storage device, and virtual cd drive. HTC uses the autorun feature to install modem drivers on the machine. I was wondering how one might go about changing the permissions on the virtual drive in order to use it as a U3 device and burn custom ISOs on it. If it's even possible, I'd assume it'd require root access... Just an interesting thought. Perhaps someone with more time and know-how would like to look into it.
  2. I know there are a lot of people looking forward to some version of Metasploit for their Android phones, but would it be possible to forward all traffic from a home server running Metasploit (being controlled via ssh with connectbot) through the phone like a proxy? Is there a way to use ssh port forwarding to accomplish this task? -Chaemelion
  3. Sorry to hear that, IG. What depresses me is the fact I can't even scrounge up enough cash to go to Defcon... <_<
  4. Actually, you could use the ssText3d screensaver and modify the registry to set the text to nothing. It's a bit more complicated, but if you have room on the Teensy...
  5. I recently ran into a Vista easter egg that could potentially be used to hide suspicious activity caused by your Teensy script. From the command line, just type "aurora.scr /p65552" to cause the screensaver to appear and cover nearly all windows and remain until the process is killed regardless of user input at the keyboard or mouse. From my experience even the Task Manager is hidden. I just thought it'd be pretty handy since it's already included in Vista. I believe a few other screen savers can be used with this argument to achieve the same effect. Ending the process is as simple as "taskkill /IM aurora.scr". EDIT Ok, so I've heard it's not an easter egg and that it's just attaching the screensaver to the desktop PID. Anyways, you get the idea.
  6. I have McAfee and I know it uses different processes for different things such as real time virus scan, and I'm not sure which ones, but you can kill some and they'll stay dead. Anyhow, It's better than shooting in the dark with the mouse. I'll look into it further then reply if I find anything. I get my teensy in a few days so I'm excited :)
  7. What's wrong with what wheeee said? A small usb hub with a flash drive would work wouldn't it? Then use irongeek's script to find the drive and execute from it...
  8. How about you use win+R to bring up command prompt, and kill any processes with names in a list of known AVs? Also, you could use /T ot terminate child processes, /F to force everything, or /FI for a filter. taskkill /IM Mcshield.exe taskkill /IF Mc* (for McAfee processes) I don't know if you know this, but AV like McAfee with give you annoying pop up warning when something is disabled, so it's probably better to kill it all together. Besides, I think this would be much more effective than guessing where to make mouse clicks...
