Hi guys,
Im looking to completely format my apple iPad 1 and i want to install the Linux OS onto it for portable hacking and also to explore more areas.
I do have a slight idea how to do it,
I am planning to jailbreak the device at first, access the root and delete the tree of unnecessary files present such as the internal based applications giving me a higher processor speed hence allowing me to complete tasks which should be done on the linux OS. I need someone who can help me get the OS onto the iPad wither by creating an OS Booter compatible for the iPad or some other way.
Once this is done - i would make the whole project opensource allowing everyone to access it.
If anyone can help me on this it will be great
Thanks

You are on the right track about jailbreaking the iPad. There is a bootloader called Openiboot that allows the iPad to run a linux kernel. I think using that is a solid start for your project.
